Is it possible for me to go 11:1 Eagle rods, 11:1 Wiseco pistons, L19 main studs and head studs, hks head gaskets, and then go with a powerlab single turbo setup and run 500whp safely? Would the compression **** me up?
Why would you go high compression with a FI setup?
Your horsepower isn't what determines whether or not the motor is safe as far as I've been told. It's the torque that our rods aren't exactly fans of.
IIRC, there is word of people running 600+hp and like 400 ft. lb of torque. This would be a fine number to run, I believe.

The short answer is NO. You either build an engine for a FI application or high compression, but you can't do both. Do more research and you'll begin to understand why.

If you run a good fuel, tune, good internals and dont be dumb why can't you run high compression?
Now now, what about taking advantage of e85??? Plus all the right cooling mods and a REALLY good tune? Anything is possible in my opinion... however, I still wouldn't go any higher than the stock compression lol

All these replies ASSUME plenty of things, but fails to be realistic in total. First, OP wants to run 500 HP "safely", and that is more of a pipe dream with high compression and FI. Particularly because he's trying to do it in stages. Tuning in that range will take multiple pulls from an expert tuner and using nothing but specialized race fuel. While it may be possible to do this (or use E85), this calls upon a high degree of funding, knowledge and expertise on the part of the owner. Based upon what's been posted here, those three conditions seem very doubtful.
Having built high compression race engines for Nissan GT cars, I will only say that it's been my experience that building towards a particular application leads to a better outcome. I stand by my suggestion that he'd be better off (and "safer") building his VQ for FI or high compression, but not both. He'll spend less, have fewer headaches and have more durability in the real world.

^ Agreed. Low compression = less chance of detonation = ultimately more power, safely. This is I believe what the OP was looking for. E85 or race fuel will work just fine at 11:1 with FI but you'll have to stick to those fuels religiously! If you're in the midwest that may not be a big deal.
I run E85. And I run 8.5:1 compression. ;-) No problem with power, on boost or off boost.

Personally I think the point of a forum is to help people who are less knowledgeable on something that you know a lot about, also to be around people who are into the same thing as you. However being helpful is always my number one goal. There have been a lot of forums I have received help on, and even more than I have helped others, and spreading around misinformation is pretty disappointing for me.

I help those who need help, not those who are too lazy to do it themself.
Basic research will tell you that high compression is bad for boost.
Basic research will also tell you that boosting to 500 whp is NOT something an amateur should tackle by himself.
If anyone his going to try and buy a gallo 24 rod, they deserve it.
