misfire on cylinder 6..wtf
Currently running a vortech.
7 lbs boost. 1 step colder plugs. Been running fine for about a 1500-2000 miles. Osiris engine tuned
Hfc cats, DW 600cc inectors, Walboro 255 pump, Uprev MAF
Pulled the spark plug on Cylinder 6 and found this any ideas what could have caused it?

Hey guys thanks for the responses
Was planning on getting a AFR meter
But did not get around to it. As far as timing i will have to get ahold of my tuner to find out what he did.
I am running NGK PLFR6A-11 plugs they were new out of the box so about 1500-2000 miles on them..
I plan on pulling all the plugs and looking them over the holidays
Running 91 octane exxon gas
Hope i did not blow this engine up..
Yes it seems the ground electrode got burned off

How do you know you're detonating? CEL? Hearing ping? Hole in the engine?
6 is drivers side rear? Purely speculation but if you've been strong for 1000 miles and this is the first sign I doubt its your AFR ... engines are tolerant of a variety of AFRs and 7psi is pretty tame...
you could be reaching a section of your map that has an bad number in the timing...
replace that plug and see what the car does.
Maybe invest in some data logging equipment on your osiris to see what the engine is doing as a whole and not just your AFRs...

I don't know if it was detonating, I only know it was misfiring. from what I read it seems to showing signs of being lean
ie the burned off Ground electrodes.
not sure how to test the fuel pump, the car will start so the pump has to be working somewhat..
btw 2003 de engine, Uprev MAF, walboro 255 ,600cc DW injectors
all parts were installed at the same time then tuned
so a little more info on this. I guesstimated 1000 miles but after further thought
I have over 1500-2000 miles at least on this tune
2 full track days (5 rounds of 20min each day) and it drove great those days
and after track days I ran it in town for perhaps another 50 miles easily
it was running just fine when I parked it after driving to work one night
4 days later I fired it up and drove it for about a half mile when the misfires occurred
I drove it home all the while it was misfiring..
I pulled number 6 plug because the obd2 code read was P0306
it wasn't till today that I pulled the other plugs
I ended up pulling all the plugs and found that number 5 cylinder and number 3 cylinder
also have the electrode burned off..
so recap
cylinders
6 drivers side
5 pass
3 pass
burned off plug ground electrodes
cylinders
1
2
4
plugs seem ok
that means the problem exists in both banks ..correct?
my point it that it seems to have happened rather quickly like something failed in the system
I am ordering all new plugs and a AFR gauge tonight but I worry that the same thing will occur again.
again thanks for the replies and the help diagnosing this friggin thing. it pisses me off cause I was so pleased with the vortech and tune I am running
..what do I need to get for data logging my Osiris? my Osiris tune was done by shawn church on his laptop, so I don't have a cable or software ..or any kind of password..sorry for the newb questions

I did a compression check and while its not great it is still within specs
I ended up installing a Innovate AFR gauge( should have gotten it from the get go) sweet unit has the ability to data log on a laptop--the serial to usb port connector is a must for this because the gauge comes with a ancient connector
to pc's.. cable comes with a cd for drivers
http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/x...7&cat=0&page=1
logged afr and came up with a lean condition at redline/6700 rpm ish
this explains why it ran so well and didn't give me problems until I tracked it
I don't redline in town..
my tuner came to town and adjusted the fuel/afr at those levels and all is well
thanks guys for helping me with this
