Default F/I build cams

hey hows it going I'm looking for anyone who might have built or have any insight on the avenue I'm about to take. i currently have a non revup DE 350z with motormen plenum spacer as well as an aem cai kinetic hfcs and the motor dyne tdx v2 catback. I've finally got enough money to start actually building internals and i was interested in the JWT c9 cams for the immediate future and within 6 or so months going for the vortices supercharger. I'm not sure if stock bottom end will hold but with just the cams i know it should be fine and the supercharger on its own should be the same story I'm just not sure how mixing them would result. I've also looked at replacing the rods but I'm not sure if that'll be happening just yet.

I ran JWT C2 with a mod'd procharger(pushed 13psi) and the cams made a huge difference over stock. Ive never run BC, but have heard plenty good things.

what do you plan to tune with and what are you going to do with your fuel system?

well i have the uprev osiris tuner as to fuel system when we upgrade to the supercharger i was considering upgrading to bigger pump along with 650 injectors. seeing as how c9 cams are amongst the most aggressive i was afraid that with so much lift and duration maybe the cylinders might over pressurize for what the rods or head gaskets can take. and I've been looking at this forum for a few years searching for someone to take c9 cams to a vortices setup so i appreciate you telling me to keep searching, but if you see something i may have missed please let me know.

it does seem like an excessive amount of lift. I would factor in how it will idle and how it will tune. My C2 are a ~260* and it idles rough and 'searches' ...

My apologies for assuming you hadn't searched.

I have heard you you can call JWT and they are very good about discussing ur specific needs. Maybe try that

I run the C2s and my idle is near stock smooth , no searching and @ 800 rpm. You can reduce the overlap at low RPM by cam phase tuning.
Mine is done via Uprev.

For a street turbo , the C2 is a good choice..still good spool....for a Vortech you can be a bit more aggressive.

Kelford 272s idle perfectly. My idle is set to 1000 though as I like to keep oil pressure a little higher at idle.

I ran 272 from Kelford with my single setup. Going with 308s with my twin setup. I liked my 272s for 6-800rwhp, how things have changed a bit since the last build.

OP. Are you planning on just running cams than installing a vortec? Although I have heard of a few owners who have done came swaps in car - doesnt C9s require the head to be clearanced? [Assuming you are attempting to do this with the block still in the car.]

Planning on doing another build thread?

Tomei = Cast, JWT = Billet

^ most cams are cast, fairly irrelevant unless there is some special need for billet afaik

JWT has a great reputation for top notch quality though

^ Billet is what's used in our vehicles from the manufacture. I just wouldn't feel comfortable upgrading to an inferior (material/process) product, especially if you're going to raise redline. It wouldn't be so bad if the cams were easy to replace, but they're not.
