Im going to look into getting some skinnies for my car as well. I think oldmanZ had the correct wheel size and backspacing on his car but I cant recall the dimensions. I really want to keep my AP racing front brakes so I want to avoid doing 15" skinnies. I'm not sure that even the 17"s will fit around these brakes but if like to try.

I ended up going with oldmans setup , i baught some jegs 15×4 with 1.75 bs and got 1/4 in spacers and i got 27x4.5 hoosier bias plys to match the rear.*
I didnt want to buy 15s either because i plan to do akebonos next season for the front but i needed somethin now so i went with cheapest option. When i do the brakes ill do a better wheel setup all around. I just dont know what i'll need to clear those calipers , I don't see anyone running skinnies over akebonos.*
Need to get some seat time and experiment with suspension and tire pressures to dial the 60ft in. Very bouncy launch this pass lol i had the rear coils set as soft as they could go. The line lock was working great.with that mph theres definately alot left in it!
the other passes were just shake down passes to get a feel for the car with skinnies . I lost brakes the first pass I made. The cheap autozone ceramic pads were too soft. It heated the rotors up so bad the rotors turned blue. Was pretty scary trying to hit the brake pedal and it was just hard and didnt budge . after a few stomps i finally had brakes again. I went and found some carbon metalic pads at Orielys just to try something else. Anything was going to be better than what i had. Put them on at the track and sure enough they worked much better lol.
That's nutz. I've never seen a car bounce like that. It would've scared the **** out of that GTR had he run. Definitely a low 10 to high 9 second car. Glad to see the "gold in the pan" issue is in the past.
Id say a combo of both lol but i did get one more pass after that. I had stiffened the rear coils a lil and it yeilded a wayy better launch but unfortunately i cut out in first from lean protection ....of course i panicked and got worried and sent logs to Hal (fuel was all good) turns out the failsafe was just set up a lil too semsitive for the track . It was set to start watching at 9lbs of boost at 100% throttle and during launch control i was past 9lbs so it triggered. But man if it hadn't this would have been a killer pass !! It was a 1.7 60ft my best ever.
My car bounces like that. I'm gonna order a set of the IDS rear adjustable drag shocks and see what they recommend for spring weight. I've knocked out a 1.6 60ft with hotchkis springs and stock old *** shocks. I ran a new personal best a couple weeks ago went 7.02 @ 102 with a crappy 1.8 60ft. Your mph should put u in the 6.5-7 1/8th mile range. Another thing to try if your willing to is power shifting. I knocked .2 off my previous best just power shifting with .2 worse 60ft and my car seems to love it. Been doing it for a few months now every race day and my trans still shifts like butter.
I made it to the track for closing day last weekend with some timing adjustments I got the car to trap almost 7mph more. Was really hoping to knock the 6 off the checklist but with worn out slicks and shocks I just couldn't get the 60ft where it needs to be. Back to back 7.0's was good to see.
Thats awesome good job! I was only able to go to the track one other time and I snapped the stock axle first pass off the trailer. I wanted to go back on the closing weekend but it got cancelled from rain =(
Wanted to let u guys know that the Weld S71 17x5 fit perfect on my car even clear the huge brakes. This wheel is foxbody fitment 2.2" backspace with the high pad. I honestly didn't think they were going to fit but they look amazing now to spend the coin on the matching rear set.

Hey man what size tire are you running on the front with these? are you rubbing at all?
I have a set of these with same wheel size as you but with a wicked bulgy fat hoosier 27.5x4.5 tire in the front and its rubbing bad on my fenders. Looking for something smaller just don't know what to go with.
