Boosting my 04 350z (first project)
I saw the REV9 kit comes with a lot of things in it. What are worth keeping in it and what should I upgrade? What’re more parts that I’ll need along with it?
Well, you need to inspect the y-pipe, my kit did not have any issues on that, but I've seen someone else have to cut it open/re-weld to clean it up.
I only changed the wastegate because the one that came with mine didn't use a TIAL style spring, so I bought an eBay tial replica wastegate(EMUSA) and a tial srping.
I only changed the BOV for a different style.
I would highly recommend having a couple extra 2" and 2.5" v-band exhaust clamps as I'm pretty sure I broke almost all of them
Get a sheet of graphite(no metal inside of it) and make v-band gaskets or they are going to leak.
The downpipe from the turbo probably will have to be un-rounded to pass the frame.
I cut a tab off for the a/c compressor mount, and opened another up for ease of fit, unsure if I could have gotten it to fit if everything was loosely tightened.
Read the TN kit instructions as they are the same.
Things I needed that were extra
Hoses, hose clamps/zip ties
Tuning
Injectors
Oil pan spacer with oil return port.
Oil filter sandwich plate
a lot of titanium exhaust wrap

Here's my suggestion, as I've seen you posting a lot and keep asking about the Rev9 kit.
Wait until after October and go to Z Nationals. You'll be within an easy drive. Go check out the track day and the show day. See if you can get a ride along on track with someone. Find people with forced induction kits. Ask questions. Find the guys that have owned the platform for a long time. Ask more questions.
You have a rare opportunity living so close to an area with a lot of experience in the Z33 chassis.
Getting in a hurry to just boost a car with the $10k you have may not necessarily be the way you want to go after you check out some different builds.
In the end, it's your money and you can do what you want...
However, this is a great chassis that is starting to age. If done properly, you can get a lot of enjoyable years out of it (almost 12 for me so far). Not saying it's every case, but usually jumping right into boost on a strict budget and stock block will result in expensive things breaking that you can't or won't want to deal with.
Thanks for all the help thus far. Sorry, I'm a little impatient haha, this is just the first time in my life where I have a car that is able to become stronger without doing too much out of the ordinary to it as well as having a good amount of aftermarket support. I do see your concerns about my decision in trying to boost my car with a small budget. I did sign up for the Z nationals and will be attending it with my girlfriend as that is on the same weekend as my birthday! I'm hoping to see some gnarly cars and have a good idea of what I wanna do with my build afterward. Due to your worries about my car breaking down if I put in a turbo kit I did rethink my decision a little bit. I may try to stay na with a nice stance build and play around with a bagged setup and nice exhaust as well as some nice cosmetic mods without making it look ricey. I still have a lot of time before I decide on what I'll do with my car so I'm excited about what I'll learn in the upcoming months! Thank you so much for being patient with me, as I am very new and overly excited.

Awesome! That will be a great birthday weekend. I'm not sure if I'll make the trip down this year, but I still might. Either way, just don't make your decisions in a vacuum. After Z Nationals you'll have a much better idea of the direction you want to take. Even if it's boost, I'm sure you'll learn some pointers and tricks before you get started.
it’s just from learning. When I posted it I said I’ll put a turbo on my car for 2k but I didn’t budget for it to cost 6k for a reliable one. I have 8k planned on everything so it’s not that I won’t follow through. I can easily get a **** turbo to break my car. I just learned watching videos and decided on something that’ll last longer. What makes you think I’m not following through? I’m still modding, I just don’t have an unlimited budget. Saying I’ll build it differently don’t mean anything due to me not knowing **** beforehand.
“I’m seeing other options what whether they’re worth it or not.” Putting me on blast? Tf did I do to you. You’re just reading between lines for slight satisfaction of making fun of someone who’s pretty new to modding cars. The other options are something I’ll follow through with.
Go authentic when you can. Don't cheap out on important things. A lot of quality parts have since been discontinued so troll different classifieds to find some good deals on secondhand parts (like JHC with his vortech kit). I managed to get authentic Chargespeed carbon fiber bottom line rear caps and side skirts for $200 in good condition from craigslist years ago. It also took a few years before I got my hands on my 19" LMGT4s for $1200. Now, prices are insane. Good deals can be had on a budget, but patience is the key. Good luck with your build
Good for you. No need to get all crazy with boost right out of the box. Get a feel for how she drives for a little bit and then modify the things you dislike to suit your taste. Make a build thread. Post some pictures of your progress and your ideas. The Z33 has been around so long that you'll get some good feedback on what works and what doesn't. Of course, you'll get some not-so-helpful comments, but this is the internet, so that should not be surprising. I drove my Z stock for a couple years. I did some not so tasteful things to it which I will admit to (i.e., cheap-o fleabay lip and other dumb things), but they were all easily reversible and have since been scrapped.

Possibly outside your current budget, but also a thought. There are some realistic people out there who understand that excessively modifying their Z does not get a dollar for dollar return on investment. There always seem to be plenty of boosted Zs for sale in my area in the $8K-$12K range. Sure, you would be taking a gamble that they are beat to crap, but it could pay off and you could combine the two into building one Z and then sell the other.
I know that nobody really wants to buy someone else's toy, or that built not bought, blah blah blah and all that crap, but you would basically be getting it to source the parts you need.

Getting the supporting mods done first is the way to go.
The car will still be a blast even NA. Best of luck!
Smart move, I've had my Z for about a year before I started down my FI journey. Unfortunately my Z was a bit broken when I got it so majority was repairs at first, but it did come w/ the injen intake, throttle spacer, plenum spacer, true dual exhaust, and uprev tuned. Before I started boosting it, I had already done coilovers, Big Bore throttle body, upgraded the entire cooling system (including the coolant bleeder valve. The OEM plastic one broke randomly while idling at a gas station), solid motor mounts, upgraded trans mount, stage 1 clutch and went FBO (headers were a "might as well" since I swapped the motor w/ a lower mileage one).
