Thumbs up Anyone running Griptec pulley with Vortech?

Hey guys,

Just wondering who all is running griptec pulleys if anyone? I installed a 3" 6 rib on my Vortech TI. Went this route to maximize pulley grip and resistance to belt slip.

Was running stock vortech pulley layout during the initial tune when I installed the new TI and was really battling slip. Was able to get a couple good pulls with full boost to dial the tune in. Had to crank the hell out of the tensioner to make somewhat consistent boost. The tune is on the conservative side since things weren't 100% stable. Made 18psi at 7300 rpm with air filter removed. 564whp. Was hoping for 600whp but may go back for a re-tune to dial things in further now that slip is under control. Car pulls harddd all the way to redline now compared to my prior V3 SCI that dropped around 6800rpm. IAT were heating up big time. The TI is much more efficient and is only 30 degrees over ambient.

After the tune I did the timrod belt layout and griptec pulley, now slip is under control. Going to installing 3" blower intake tube soon to maximize flow into the blower. Currently seeing 16psi at redline, hoping the bigger intake will bring up to 18psi. And don't want to run a turbo guard either, too much dust and bugs where I live.

Picture shows an HD belt, but I'm currently running a K060916A Gates belt (Aramid) since Gates no longer offers the RPM line. Too bad, they were fantastic belts.

Happy Boosting

Chan
