28th supercharger pulley on Vortech rev-up
Hey has anyone ran a 28tooth SUPERCHARGER pulley on the rev-up with out changing the JACKSHAFT COG pulley.... Im asking because today when i was installing mine i ran into the cog tensioner pulley hitting the jackshaft cog pulley we worked it out to where its about 1000th of and inch away but the belt is a little loose... so im wondering how loose is to loose???, and away other advice on what to do THANKS alot!!

you might have to run it over. i know vortech advises not to do this but i have over a 1000 miles on my setup running it this way and i have not had a problem. i am running a 28 s/c cog, 32 g/s cog. look under my thread "Si trim" vortech post #60 at the two last pic's. you will see what i am talking about. i am running the 560 cog belt this way. you may ahve to run the 600 cog belt this way.

i dont know what boost i am running yet prob like 15 16 pounds.... so my redline is going to be around 6700 hahaha but yeah i tried putting the pulley above the belt and there is no way that is going to happen!!!!! i need a bigger belt or something for that!!! as of right now the belt is under the pulley and the tension is pretty tight i cent even bend the belt 90 degrees so i think that is tight enough!!!

i got a 536mm belt from applied.com. It's a pretty tight fit though. My SC did fail shortly after I did the 28T and 536mm belt. My SC was purchased in August, so its one of the ones with defective bearings. Another note is that I had it tuned right after the pulley/belt install so that was probably the most it has ever been pushed, although it never was revved over 6k, since I did not have enough IDC with 440cc's

I'm also about to order this belt (Gates 8MGT-544-21 belt) for the same setup: Vortech V-3 SCi revup with 28 teeth supercharger pulley (instead of 32 teeth) without changing jackshaft pulley (34 teeth).
However, it looks like this belt has slightly different teeth profile, with ~5% higher teeth:

What do you think, how reliable is this belt for 34/28 setup?
