The Vortec 2 mounts an air filter on the SC. Water leaks through the gap between the hood and headlight. This was causing water to be sucked into the SC and confusing the MAF so, in heavy rain, the engine would sputter. I bought some high temp 3.5 inch tubing and routed the intake behind the bumper.

I need to replace the old cone filter with a canister, but I want to find a size to fit through the gap in front of the hood latch so I don’t need to loosen the front bumper to remove the filter.
