Default SSR Engineering Twin Turbo System completed! *Videos*

Hey everybody, the long awaited G35 Twin Turbo / Twin Intercooled kit is finally finished. We finished earlier tonight, got time to plug in a base map and get some test runs out of it before we called it a night. Tommorow we will have dyno results as well as the results from the stock plenum vs our own.

Just a forwarning everybody, I won't be able to make it back on-line for about 24 hours. So if you have any questions please call our shop at 505 250 7615. Just a basic rundown, this is just a preliminary video, there hasn't been any dyno results or quarter mile times etc. This is just a first-fire type of movie.

Sounds good, but pics of the actual kit would be even better. Are the wastegates open?

That manifold design looks great. Good idea using those brackets to hold the turbos as well. Great work!

I don't know i feel about that filter placement tho. It may be great for getting cold air, but because the Z is my daily driver, I have to worry about water and other crap down there (especially come winter).

Other wise, that looks like a great kit, I like how you did the intercoolers and piping. Keep up the good work.

Looks great. Can't wait for #'s. Dual intercoolers are great with G35 bumper - some of us with S/C applications would love a set up like that.

open wastegates... unique sound and great difference from closed, but I dont know how much people will like the difference in sound. I like it :-)

Sounds crazy like the engine is breaking apart or something. Sounds way more ballsy than stock deffinetly.

Now if only it didn't sound like a bucket of ***.

The GReddy TT kitted 350Z in the popular IMV Films video (I forget his screenname here) sounds great... like a turbo car should. That G35Coupe sounds like ***, mostly because V6s with open exhaust sound like crap unless they're FI. That's what's weird - that one is FI but it still sounds horrible. Any explanation?
I notice the Z has a single-exit exhaust on it, so maybe that makes a difference?

If you were even slightly educated you would know that the reason it sounds different is because the wastegates DUMP into the atmosphere as everything spools up. And when you let off you get a unique sound as well. OPen wastegates are actually better than closed wastegates which reroute back into your exhaust and are released there. It is all a matter of preference.

What does that have to do with anything? You're trying to say I can't have an opinion of your car if I don't drive something you find acceptable, which is laughable. A more appropriate question would be "What cars do you like the sound of?" to which I could provide a lengthy list.

It's not simply because it has external wastegates: It's because it's a V6 and V6s with open dual exhaust sound like ***. There are plenty of cars running external wastegates that sound awesome - mostly 4cylinder, inline 5s, and inline 6s though. There are few V6s that sound good with loud exhaust. Yes, it is personal preference but it's hard to believe ANYONE would find that obnoxious staccato enjoyable. Seriously consider re-routing the wastegates or doing something so your $35k car doesn't sound like a heap. Just a suggestion.
Congrats on the performance upgrade.
