Default Greddy TT: emanage modifying the MAF signal?

Has anyone noticed the emanage is changing the MAF signal to the ecu? I setup my profec e-01 to show maf input and output voltage. The input was ~1.0v and the output was ~.85v at idle. Does the emanage have a setting for this? Is it a side effect? I don't see why it would be doing this. It's probably making the car run leaner under vacume operation, which could be ok. But I want to know why this is happening.

I assume you're using the larger injectors that come with the Greddy kit right? If so, that's the reason. If the Emanage didn't alter the MAF signal your car would be running SUPER rich with the larger injectors.

Stock injectors are 290cc Greddy is 440cc, That's approx a 35% difference. The Emanage must remove the proper amount of air being measured by the MAF to make up for them.

I believe the emanage directly controls the pulsewidth on each injector. It should not need to modify the map signal at all.

Sorry. To clarify, it removes fuel by altering the MAF, adds fuel by modifying injector pulsewidth. I guess i should've been more specific.

Can you explain where you got the "adds fuel by modifying injector pulsewidth" part?

I thought it was MAF conditioning on both.

It takes out fuel by changing MAF voltage. It adds fuel by adding injector pulsewidth. Gredy's calibration is slightly off on the 440's BTW if I remember correctly.

I have heard different things about injector size.....are they 290cc's or 300 cc's ?????

Depends on what the fuel pressure is. I've heard anywhere from 280cc to 300cc. Don't have anyway to test them myself so I was was just using 290cc as an example.

So modifying the MAF signal is going to result in the ecu advancing the timing right? Unless the ecu in the Z does not function this way. I see a TS ecu flash in my future, damnit.

What does Nissan say the factory injector size is???

Who knows, none of the dealerships seem to know jack ****. All they know is what the part number is.

There's no way to directly correlate more air with more or less timing. The timing will advance as RPM's go up. Modifying the MAF signal is only going to affect the car when it is not on boost.

The only reason it has to do that is because of the larger injectors. Once you're on boost like I said earlier, the emanage simply adds pulsewidth to the stock injector signal.

Okay, so you guys are assuming the injector harness has been installed.

The base eManage without the injector harness just modifies MAF voltage.

I'll have to look into the injector harness more. Thanks.

To run the RC440 you will need to use the injector harness.. pretty much splice off your factory injector harness and solder the new one in.
