Default CLs during cruise conditions?

I tried searching the forums but can't get it to work. I have had several CLs since installing the larger injectors. The code that I keep getting is: 175 system too rich (bank2) @ 2650 rpms and engine load was at 38.8%. This sucks due to the fact that my inspection is near and it will not pass OBD2 standards.

My car also lost twenty HP in the lower rpms when wot occurs from a cruise. I think it may be because of the amount of fuel building up during cruise. It was not cruising at 14.7 (A/F) when I cruised for a couple seconds on the dyno. It was a low 14 to high 13.

How can this be stopped because TS has not in terferred with anything at these low rpms and most likely will not touch the closed loop portion where this is occuring.

What have peolple been using for higher volume fuel pumps and pressure regulators? I am really lean after 5600 rpms.

I had this and cleared it for good. It took changing my driving style which isn't easy on long commutes (thank God for my 8500 )

Bill can you elaborate on your 175 codes?

Did you use Emanage and what about Mike and that "low throtlling?"

You are correct that it is building up because you can stay around town at higher open loop rpm's or at least more often like me and never get it again.

I used to commute 2 hours a day and get it every day. 175, I hated it!

I quit commuting about 4 -5 weeks ago on that long freeway run and haven't got it back once. I am TS tuned too and it's true they don't touch anything in closed loop. I haven't changed anything but my driving habits unless it is a time duration thing like when you first get the RT Cats but I doubt it at low rpm's it's just too much fuel in closed loop than the 02'S expect.

Good luck!

12sec,
Thanks for the response. I haven't spoke with Bill yet on this issue. I will contact him and see what he did to resolve this problem. I have reset the light and drove on the freeway for about fifty miles ay higher rpms. No light thus far but will continue to wait for it. Do you think that by running so rich at cruise hurt my HP numbers at the dyno? Did you loose any HP/TQ in low rpms at the dyno once installing larger injectors? I have lost twenty pounds of torque and twenty HP just in the lower rpms like at 4000. Car runs great other than that, but it does feel sluggish at 2500-4500rpms. This sluggishness has seemed to get slightly better over time but hasn't fully worked itself out. Did you have to send your ecu a second time for tuning?

Mike,
I was wondering how things were going with your new set up. I have located some injectors at a decent price but do not want to commit to them until I know the bugs have been worked out. 20rwhp is a lot, I wonder why this occured? Maybe a fuel pressure regulater would help during the lower rpm's?

Whosdaddy,
The new set up is going good but with some minor issues. One issue is that the CEL will come for system too rich. There is a way to fix this but just haven't done anything about it yet. I did loose a good bit HP/TQ but I think it has something do with being soo rich during partial trottle and cruise conditions or to my driving. Therefore I might try using a SAFC or something alike to lean out the cruise and low trottle settings. Once that is done it shouldn't be soo rich at the beginning of a WOT run from a cruise (such as I did on dyno) and be able to get up and go alot better. I am locating a pump and regulator this week and will install them asap. Then I can go over 5600rpms and make some real HP! Will post dyno results asap and the A/F should be a steady 11.7. I will work out lower rpms loses after pump/regulator install. There are some bugs to be worked out but I will have them solved soon.

I didn't lose any HP or TQ at 4k but if you check my fuel chart on the dyno it leans out , I bet yours is richer than mine at 4k.

At 4k I am at 12.2
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/544393/2

then you will notice it start to head towards 11. My car was road tuned I am unlucky enough to live in California.

I ditched my DFMU.

Yes I did reflash once, it was after I added the RT Cats and Crawford Plenum, I also increased the boost then flashed for all 3 changes at once. They (TS) are calling it the "9 lb flash" now.

Mike,
Another way to fix your problem is to add more power mods, IE headers that may help lean things out, even a plenum I would think may help.
I am calling crawford tomorrow to see what kind of deal they can work out on some headers and a plenum. For us 5AT guys, with a converter... a little power loss at lower rpm's might not be the end of the world? Good luck.

Max,
I am following your lead. I am hopefully getting the 9lb flash shortly. I can't remember if that is with the regular/standard ATI pulleys or with different ones? Also, I was wondering if you still had a front mount IC. Sorry, I couldn't remember. Any updates on the converter?

I haven't delved into the Verter yet sorry it is too unknown right now Gurgen is the only I know talking about it, I want to see more people do it although he is quite happy with his.

I had to swap my pulleys to get exactly 9 lbs and it really helps the low end.

Lucky guy to have the Crawford Headers I have heard nothing but good about them and everyone knows how I feel about their plenum. Oh and yes I have the FMIC. The only thing I don't have is the FMU and booster pump it comes with (crap.) Hey but that is my opinion.

Max,
I spoke with Doug this morning. It looks like everything is a go. I am just waiting to hear from Gruppe S on those injectors. This may take place sooner than I thought For anyone that has any questions about Crawford headers, Doug will have you sold in like 2 seconds... He has done a couple TS refalshes/injectors with no rich issues.
