Default Dreamworks Update--> non hijacked

Original post by ZZtop:

Just got an email from Dreamworkes Racing regarding their supercharger for the Z:

"It is production and should start shipping soon. Prepaid orders will be filled first. We expect about a 60 day turn around time once an order is placed.

Thanks,
Goran

DREAM WORKES RACING

Please Note: If you have not done so, visit our new website @ www.dreamworkesracing.com "

I still wonder if these guys are for real. I certainly hope so, considering what they have promised.

I think someone should ask them what their CARB EO number is. If you look here there is no Dreamworkes:
http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/amquery.php

Search by manufacturer and select supercharger system. This site does take some time to update, but you should make sure it is legit before you buy...

Well I notice that they have taken the trouble to give their website a facelift. That indicates some progress

However, still no photo of a prototype. One would think that this should be available given the fact that they are proceeding with production. Appears fishy

i like how they say it is carb approved. it took stillen along time to get carb approved and vortech is still looking for the right car.

Default There is no twin turbo for the 350Z there

I just clicked on Products, 350Z, Turbochargers, Dream Workes - - and the Dream Workes website says "there are no products in this category." What gives?!?

Just checked their webpage and it shows the same pic that was posted here before. No pics on car although the main page does have a very nice looking DBZ.

Wow, bout time they updated their page. I'm still kinda keeping an open mind on them and look foward to them releasing their kit sometime before 2035. I think the + S/C realm needs a little bit more offering in the Z world. I wouldnt mind actually seeing the dyno numbers on a Z running 12 psi w/ that unit, it'd be nice to see the power curve, that'd have to be a damn solid 11 second car. Kind of a bummer tho that the unit is only capable of 12 psi, whish it was more like a mustang aftermarket unit that can go up to say 15psi. But if we could really get 600 chp outta the kit... that'd be nice.

its a roots type blower and they are super air heaters. 12 psi probably would'nt equal 8 psi on turbo or a vortech type. I saw a cobra mustang at the dyno. it was running 17 psi and all kinds of stuff and it did'nt break 500rwhp. the shop that installed my kit has a mustang twin turbo running 17 psi and it makes 720 rwhp.

Thats a pretty silly thing to say considering that people on this board are ecstatic when they are able to run 7 to 8 psi without having a catastrophic malfunction.
I think its too bad we dont have an engine that embraces FI and can handle up to 15 psi without having to take out a second mortgage on your house to build your engine! Why the hell should tuners be building brawny force feeders when we have anemic (sp?) engines that shudder at the prospect of high boost?

Oh no! "The unit is only capable of 12 PSI!!" Give me a call if you have an engine that can handle more than that Juztin. I will then bow to you for having extraordinary funds, patience and know-how.

The DW SC promises to be a standout because it delivers an average boost level with roots type power curve.

Why do you think people are buying the Stillen? IT may deliver less power, but it delivers its power 2000 rpm sooner than those centrifugal SCs that are out there right now.

The postponed release schedule seems annoy ppl in this forum.

I like such kind of design though it takes long, very long ~~~
Some features of DW charger looks similiar to AMG ones.
(1)Top on V engine S/C, looks integrated.
(2)Both air to water intercooling system, AMG intercoolers
are made to support 11~15 psi
charged air is perfectly controlled within 60 C under WOT.
This's power with safe.
(3)DW is an aftermarket kit, more works are needed
the hilight extra injectors sounds like a safe guard for richer
fueling implied that the ecu adaption ONLY is still marginal to
this humble 6 psi
If so, how other S/C makers even w/o intercooler survive

Yes this delayed release schedule has bred skeptics, but I think that the skepticism is bred more from frustration than the actual evidence at hand. In your words 'It annoys people in this forum'
Geez that is an understatement.

Also I agree that this kit looks alot like an AMG unit. (without the waffle iron imprint down the center!)

For some reason this kit is being camoflaged under a veil of secrecy, and I look forward to finding out why!

Yes it is sad that unit is only capable of 12 psi. If I'm paying thousands of dollars for a system, I'm going to want to get my moneys worth. But that's all determined by goals as well. I want to see if I can go for running hopefully about 20 or so psi daily. The motor build up won't be hard, just expensive. And at that point anyway, the car will probably be a bit on the scary side to drive, so I'd end up valuing my life and therefor only take it out on the weekends . I'll join the stroked FI route personally. That is very expensive and since money doesnt grow on trees for me, that's going to take time. But we also need time seeing how we still have to address larger injectors and management to an extent. Also the transmission is another questionable area. But running 12 psi right now, yes I agree that is crazy in our current state of the mod scene. But the parts are out there, just not many people can shell out 10k for parts alone to get where things get really exciting. I am curious though how the 12 psi will be on the Z, IE how driveable, having such instant power at that level will surely have it's price. I could image endless burnouts, ala the stereotypical 800hp supra... it still runs 12's. You can stick with your 12 psi, I however want to get the most out of the VQ block that is possible on pump gas

Well - Time aside - If it's an AMG Product.. As some one said..

It will be a perfect.. Addon..

Nissan has to get with the Global program...

I suppose that Dreamworks has an exclusive import.. If they don't
They have been "smoking too much dope" and have hyped the product up..To boost thier Ego.. Then - for AMG to deliver directly to NISMO...

Sad story.. Local installer - hit's distrubution wall..

Sorry, Today's Eye opener..

I went to the So Calif 350Z Dyno Day... 3fivezeroz

Sharif with leaking at main manifolds on his greddy TT
and a weak clutch did 377hp and massive amounts of torque.

The dyno was reading a stock Z at 214hp ( Should be 235 )

Sharif ran 377hp adjusted that is 398hp to 408hp

With zero feul maps - The erase button was touched.. Ha!

I think when it is dyno'ed in Huntington beach it will be well above 400rwhp - I expect all problems fixed 415rwhp true.

Cheers Amy -
