eManage wiring help
OK, all the wiring for the eManage is accounted for (including the mis-labeled pin 119) with the exception of one wire, injector #4. On the GReddy instructions, it shows pin 8 (purple/red) going to pin 41 (white/red) on the ECU. On my car, pin 41 is white/black.
Did anyone else run across this? I would have seen it like the red/white pin 119 problem. The shop placed a call to GReddy and was told a technican will call them. This was 2PM their time (PST) and no call by 3:30PM (PST) at which time the shop closed. I called GReddy 3:30 their time and was told the same thing, that a tech would call me. No call as of 6 PST. This was after the guy at GReddy hung up on me when I asked when the technicans would be available.
I recall a recent GReddy vs. PE post where someone pointed out that GReddy had stateside support and PE didn't, which was an advantage. Well, I have a dyno appointment in the morning and my car is useless until I figure out why GReddys diagram is different, and GReddy won't open until 12PM my time. Pretty good support.

bump
I'm heading to the shop this morning and was hoping someone would know a solution. Should I tap into the white/black in pin 41 even though GReddy shows it as white/red?
Thanks,

This is why this forum is so great. I'm a little embarrased that I didn't think of that. I did a search for the manual in PDF (seach works again!) and sure enough, pin 41 white/black is injector #4.
g356gear, you are the man.
I wonder why this is the first occurance of this in the forum?

Just an update. I initalized the eManage and re-entered the maps using the E-01 remote (not fun, trust me). I programmed the car setup and boost settings for auto-learn at 6 psi. Everything looked good until the eManage started flashing green/red over and over. It wasn't reporting a code, just continuous flashing. The car also threw a check engine light. We were stumped so the tuner called GReddy again (now it's the next day and they never returned either call from the previous day). My tuner was told that the techs would be back in 2 hours, so we waited. 2 hours later, a very rude person at GReddy (he said his name was "Jod") said the techs would be back in the morning. My tuner pushed for a better answer and was told the techs would not speak with him since he wasn't an authorized GReddy dealer. This goes along with me being told that the techs "didn't want to talk to me" (exact quote) the previous day.
Turns out the installer plugged the Overtake Boost into the meter plug, not the option plug. I re-initialized the eManage, downloaded the maps I did earlier to it (thank god I saved them), and reset the ECU to clear the CEL. Everything looks good for a dyno run tomorrow.
So in short, GReddy sells a $7000 kit with bad instructions (at least 2 mis-labeled wires) and when you call them for a little help, they give you the big "F U". Nice. Something to think about for those trying to decide between GReddy and PE as the PE kit is getting cheaper.

Derek, I have personally called Greddy at least 5 times, and each time, they were polite, and I was able to get right through to Kenji who is their lead tech/owner/driver of the blue 350 GreddyZ TT that's on their website.
One time, i called for installation help for my Greddy Evo2 exhuast. The front desk guy took a message, and Kenji called me back in 5 minutes. Your experience with Greddy is not consistent with what others have posted.
By the tone of your post, maybe your installer was a bit too pushy or something. Also, keep in mind that Greddy gets 100's of calls each day for tech support, so it might take then a couple days to get back to you.
Any good installer knows to NEVER rely in wire colors. It's a fricken rats next back there, and there are mulitple wires with the same or similar colors. One should always go by the pin location..not color.
Lastly....the Greddy kit is only $6000...not $7000 based on typical street prices.
Glad your car is working now.

Maybe you're right and we happened to get the wrong person both days. I personally called twice, and I was very polite both times. I think the people on the board are much more helpful

Speaking of which, I would like to start a thread with you and ETX concerning E-01 set up. I'm thinking of teaching it low boost at 6.5, high at 7.5 and something for the overtake. It would be nice to start discussing the timing map as well.

Well I still have not dyno tuned my car. No time.
I am pulling 3 digrees at 5.5 and 7 at 8 psi. I have not run 8 psi yet, but it's there incase I get a little spike.
Setting the boost on the e-01 is really simple, and the autolearn function actually WORKS. What a concept.

I can't pull timing yet because Radio Shack only had 4 of the 6 diodes I need to complete your modifications to the harness.
Did you get the Zt-2 logging to your E-01 (from an earlier thread)? I had an extra bung put in the driver-side test pipe and want to get A/F readings ASAP.

If you have the stock greddy fuel table, you will be fine. No worries.
You only have to enter data inthe "Add injector table", and the Boost Cut Limiter. (5V across the board). Then scale your injectors from 300cc to 440cc. That's it.
I agree...once everyone gets their ignition harness and timing adjusted/dynoed, maybe ETX can begin the thread since he is the resident eManage expert, and I am just the little grasshopper in training. .
