Like many people, I love the fact that the stillen provides substantial low end gains, but i abhor the stillen hood. i went on the stillen website today, and now you can buy a cowl for your stock hood instead and its only like 200 bucks. it seems like it wouldnt look bad after its painted. anyone else looked this up, or know where i can see a picture of one actually painted?

wow, i cant do that my baby. im sure it does look better in person though since this picture is focused on the hood, whereas when you see a z in person you take in the whole car.
it looked on the stillen site like the cowl was less obvious than the replacement hood, but they look the same now that i see this close up picture.
thanks for the pic 2003z. i still would like to see a painted one though. if i can find a pic of a painted one and it doesnt look too bad i might be interested in your carbon fiber if the price is cheap enough so that its worth my while to paint over it. im assuming the carbon fiber must weigh like 10lbs less as well.

Well, mine is for sale only because I am replacing it with the full fiberglass hood. I am offering my hood/scoop for someone who doesnt want to cut theirs, but the scoop definitely looks 'added on', although at the track and at shows, even when I stand back and people don't know its mine, I have only heard good comments about it. For contrast, this is the hood, albeit, unpainted for now. (dropping it off tomorrow for paint)
I just wish I ordered the full hood before I cut mine, I could have got more for a perfect silverstone hood without scratches or chips, and with a clear bra.

ya those rims look sweet, especially w/ that front lip.
so 2003z, do you think that the cowl would look added on even if was painted to the body color?
and would you mind posting some pics after you paint the hood?
