Default What type of spark plugs are you using and at what gap?

I recently added a few more modifications (crawford headers, plenum, PE injectors, TS flash, edge tq converter) and after doing so the car had some bad missing and hesitation problems with the .40 gap. I have since regapped the plugs lower and the missing has gone away. I am running NGK one degree cooler than stock gapped at .28.

What is everyone else running?

PLEASE resolve this issue!!

i have the G35 coupe (not sure if it makes a difference) and want to get one step COOLER plugs.....

i have seen too many varying posts on this info, as i am not sure what ## to get....

i relly dont care if theyre irridium tipped either, as the conventional dual tipped ones will gap much easier.....

I was talikng to Doug (crawford) this week, and he advised me to gap at 0.30, or risk some very poorly running/idling/accel......

PLEASE HELP me (us) get to the bottom of this!

NGK heat range 7 is one step colder than stock on the 350Z. Greddy sent them to me (Greddy brand..but they are the NGK iridiums...same as everyone else...they just charge more for them)

The Greddy ones come pre-gapped...i believe it is either .28 or .30...cant remember. but .40 is much to wide of a gap for an F/I car...in my opinion.

I just checked, NGK for the Z stock app comes gapped at .44 which to me is too wide for F/I.

Yeah, the Greddy onces come pre-gapped for F/I applications. But they are about $14.99 a piece instead of $9 for the non-Greddy branded NGK's. It's your choice. It takes 3 seconds to gap a plug...so if I could do it again, I would just buy the cheaper ones and gap'em myself. Also, Greddy sells them 2 steps colder as well. If you intend to boost more than 6psi, you might wanna get those....just for extra insurance.

You could also call Greddy directly and ask Kenji for the official gap for F/I applications. Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies. I wanted to see if anyone needed to gap them as low as I did. Not that it matters, I was just curious.

Spaz, your figures are excellent 405 & 380. Bet that pulls some.
Nice one.

I thought range 6 was one step colder and range 7 was 2 steps colder?

Ive been gapped at .037 for 4 thousand miles and seems to work out well.

5 is stock 6 is one lower from what I recall. So I assume 7 would be two steps colder.

That's correct 5 is stock 6 is 1-step colder and 7 is 2 step colder.
