I don't know what you guys are talking about with lack of torque and traction.

I have an A5T with a restalled verter and the EVO isn't touching me maybe practice launching. What good is all that power if you get beat?

My next purchase after the fuel pump is the 18in BFG DR's!

I have the BFG g-Force T/As and they rock. I'm not sure how long they'll last as my daily driver tires, but I'm having fun with them. Here's a photo (note how every little grain of sand and pebble sticks to them):

I was doing a little launch practicing yesterday. I would pull off to the side of the road, wait for cars to pass, and then launch. Did that a couple of times--but a policeman was behind me and he got a bit curious as to what I was doing (which meant it was time to stop) and followed me a while before finally losing interest. Anyway, the BFG DRs are loads of fun even at the "normal driving" tire pressure of 32 psi.

Right now when I take off at WOT my car always want to go sideways and it scares me sometimes. I have to be careful. Has anybody installed traction bars to stop wheel hop and the tires from spinning? Are traction bars a possible solution for you TT guys to keep the wheels from spinning so much?

Default traction bars

Any kind of traction bar/link setup will kill the cornering performance of the car. If you really wanted the ideal drag car, the Z or G isn't the best platform.

You said you neighbor dynoed at 335hp I was assuming that was to the wheels thats alot of whp for an awd car considering the drivetrain loss on awd cars, if you neigbor is putting down 335 to the wheels hes got about 425-440 crank HP, now the only rason i said the Evo would beat a boosted Z is because a good Evo driver will dump the clutch 5-6rpm with no wheel spin at all and while the Z is try to get traction the evo will have a good 2-3 cars on the Z, but the Z would catch up to it in no time and pass him

What do you mean dump the clutch at 5-6k rpms and no wheel spin?? I had an audi s4 awd with aprox 320 crank hp (250 rwhp??) any way when i dumped the clutch at 5 6k rpms i would get mad wheel spin!!! i was running 18x9 bbs rsgt's with 255 's at all 4 corners and the car weiged aprox 3600 lbs!

I'm positive the evo would smoke all 4 tires with a 6k clutch dump!

Here's the link to his car on Ultimate Racing's site. They list his mods and dyno sheet if anybody has any interest.

I don't know about smoking the wheels maybe the clutch but not the wheels. I have both vehicles the Evo's launch is like that! I do not think I have seen one spin its wheels even the Evo's pushing 400hp at the wheels.

Well I could make a 250 rwhp heavy a$$ s4 slaughter tires with a 6k clutch dump ....since ive never driven an evo I wouldnt know but that power has got to go some where ...i heard the drive drain is a little weak in those cars maybe the clutch is taking all that abuse but on an all out 6k clutch dump something has to give...sorry i dont want to hijack this thread

Yeah, My clutch went a 15k. It took 12 hours to change and it cost over 2k.
