Default Greddy TT Owners--Important Warning

You may want to double check your metal power streering lines that run across the bottom of the car, and run right up against the passenger side turbo exhuast housing...ouch. It's the same area where you wrap the fuel lines and stuff.

While I was under the car at Street Image, Jeff (350ZNow) noticed the PS line was actually touching the exhuast housing...woops. We felt the line at it was clearly burred...but not broken. The same thing happen when 350Znow installed his kit, and the PS line melted in a day. I've been driving for 2500 miles.

Greddy doesnt mention this line, or the need to heat wrap or move it. We did both. There are some nuts right in the center of the car...just follow the line back. If you loosen the two nuts, you can move the line slightyly to the left, and give yourself an inch of extra room. Then heat-wrap for added protection. If you havent done so already, heat wrap the starter plastic housing...that thing is really close to the turbo exhuast housing as well....not good.

Attached is a pic of the line as Eric at Street Image wrapped it, and then secured it with safe wire...

Actually the turbo over time will burn through the metal PS line. Make sure you move it and give it some air-space between the turbo and the metal line.

Hah! Funny you mention this. I replaced that line with a rubber line on friday. It wore all the way through the hard line. I moved it over when I installed the kit because it was so close, seems it shifted back over. Oh well... Good thing it's just a return line, no pressure.

Yeah I notice it's not pressured. I just temporarily sealed up the hole with Permatex Gasket Maker. It holds pretty well and should be able to withstand high temp. Quick and cheap solution for now.

Removing the hard line was the hardest part. Thank you roto-zip!

It's still where I left off. I haven't had much time to do any additional work on it lately. I still have the exhaust leak so I need to take it apart and check to see if all the parts mate up. As far as the tuning goes, we still havent' pushed it to the limit yet. I'll post something as soon as we see soem good numbers.

m3power, pretty much everyone with the Greddy kit has an exhuast leak of varying severity where the wastergate connects to the downpipe adaptor. Since Greddy supplied cheap paper gaskets, everyone has burned through them and had leaks. That would be the first area to address. Turbonetics sells a deltagate wastegate metal gasket that fits perfectly with the Tial wastegates....FYI
