arrg.
just got back from a three day business trip.. what better way to end the trip than a quarter mile?
setup: 7.5psi. 19x10.5 rear TE37s with Toyo T1S @ 30.0 psi, spare in the trunk, stock LSD. stock clutch...pretty much my typical street setup- but the TEIN EDFC setup for 7 front, 0 rear.
edit: ok. i'm an idiot. i had the rears on full hard.. whoops. oh well-
ok. please laugh at my 60foot times. amazingly enough. my best 60foot was with my best quarter time and mph..
Here's the runs. UNCORRECTED to sea level..
60 foot: 2.175
ET 13.630
MPH 105.184
60 foot: 2.260
ET 13.979
MPH 104.134
60 foot: 2.332
ET 13.841
MPH 104.861
60 foot: 2.292
ET 13.831
MPH 104.609
60 foot: 2.361
ET 14.011
MPH 104.280
This was at LACR... which is 2,710 ft. above sea level.
To figure the altitude factor the formula is as follows:
ET: multiply your et (at LACR) by .97
MPH: multiply your mph (at LACR) by 1.03
so take whatever is up there. and then do the equation..
so if its any fair, then my best time was 13.22 seconds @ 108.33 mph
as for the boost levels.. i think my BOV is open too much, but 7.5psi was my peak boost hold indicatior on my HKS EVC.....
i dont drag-
so.. constructive criticism please.. i was spinning all the way thru THIRD!!! i launched at 2200 rpm and did a slow slip instead of dumping it, and i still spun the tires..

last time I went there... there was an STI on the 134 going EAST... he was showing off his BOV...
When I got to palmdale 2 hours later... we were on the track together... I took him by half a second

Cheston, dont worry....I have uncovered your problem. You only had 7.5psi in your rear tires.....that is why your times were so high.
Ya know, that is actually a pretty good time for the first time out with that car. Traction is the enemy with F/I...I have YET to get a good street start with my stock clutch....it seems like even if I get a decent start in first, as soon as I shift into 2nd, I do a rolling burner for about 50-100feet...which kills my time.
And of course, street racing/practice is nothing compare to staging up at the drag strip (which I havent even done yet)...

Looks good...when is the next round?
Also, at that higher elevation, can you increase boost slightly since the risk of detonation is reduced signficantly at higher altitudes??
What are the drag experts using for tire pressure? I hear people talk about 25-27psi in the rears...is that reasonable?
wow you whooped an sti very nice.
Guys 13's in palmdale are vary hard i am very familiar with that area. I go there all the time (not to the track for other reasons) during the day it is hot and it is very high m3's with smg(perfect drivers and launchers) whose dealer books and magazines tell you 13.2 get 14 .2 in Lacr in pamdale. 13.6 is very commendable. if i go to palmdale my bet time will be 15.1 i guarrantee it.

Ches you are doin fine for a 1st tymer on the strip. Those times are pretty impressive considering the location, LACR. If you plan on testing your 1/4 mile times at LACR, may I suggest just a 'quick' re-tune at that elevation. Sometimes something as small as that can prove to have great benefits....have fun.
I beat you Cheb. I ran a 13.4@104.8mph NA! It's all in the launch.
And don't worry, I only ran that once, my launching is horrible, just got really lucky on that. I generally run a 13.7 or so.

Wow! That makes me feel much better about my 13.2 @ 109mph with the Vortech kit on my G35 sedan. I was feeling pretty embarrassed about not breaking into the 12s at 8psi.
So, thanks for boosting my confidence
