which dyno
which dyno would you prefer? a dynojet or a mustang dyno.( to tune a vortech) i have two friends with shops. but the one with the dynojet is in tucson,az and the mustang dyno is where i live (elpaso) the drive to tucson is 4 hours. the only reason why i want to dyno tune the car in tucson is my friends tuner is badass, tunes supras all the time. my friend here just got the mustang dyno about 5 months ago, doesn't real do how to tune. my friend in tucson said he would come down with his tuner, but thats like 3 months. but i still have to order the vortech on monday. just want to know what you guys think or would do?
If your dynoing to tune your car I would go with the Mustang .It will give far less hp numbers though .My Vortech dynoed on a mustang at 338whp . Dynojets run 11 to 12 % higher...so he added 11.25 % more [some thing like that..not sire] and came out with 379whp .And that comes out par with most who use a Dynojet .The Mustang puts more of a load on the car and I think thats why it can come up with more consistant numbers . The Mustang can be set up to give hp numbers like a Dynojet also .One shop in town has his set up to give higher number [ like a dynojet ] and the other shop has his set up like a Mustang should be
100% what boog said...
next week i am having my vort. (with oem exhaust, unfortunately) tuned with a new gen mustang dynometer....
i will be back, after the fujitsubo and craword goodies are installed (and one mystery upgrade) to have it redone, and finalized for street use...
the mustang dynos simulate a real world load and friction with interia taken into consideration (the dj dynos are more popular, and a bit cheaper, i think).....
after my re-tune is done, i plan to have a local shop (w/ dj 248 i think) gimme afull run, in STD and SAE, so i can brag to everyone...
