Default The most incredible book for truly understanding about tuning cars.....

I've started reading "How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems" by Jeff Hartmann in the Motorbook Workshop Series of books. All I can say in WOW!!!! This is an absolutely amazing source for understanding the complexities of modern engine design and management. It does require some basic physics knowledge and overall familiarity with the workings of an internal combustion engine, but I would consider it a must for anyone seriously into tuning modern ECU controlled motors. Just thought I would share the resource.

Forced Induction Performance Tuning: A Practical Guide to Supercharging and Turbocharging is also a great book. Some of it is not applicable, but the basic concepts are very educational. I have learned a lot in reading parts of it (haven't read the whole thing yet).

I've flipped through it as well. I would recommend it to anyone, pro or novice.

I certainly qualify as a novice, just ordered both Hartmans' and Corky Bells' books. Thanks DUKE, for the link.
