Thumbs up Flawless Walbro 190L install, car runs and idles perfect.

Finally got the Walbro 190L installed by my Nissan mechanic.
O ring was also changed as was the fuel filter (came with the pump.) Not bad for 85 bucks huh? 1 hour labor.

Fit right in and I noticed an immediate difference.

Granted I switched from NGK copper plugs at .37 (one degree colder) to the Irradium version of the NGK plug at a .40 gap (also one degree colder) so that may have contributed to the better idle but there is more to it than that.

I have the "9 pound Technosquare flash" with the larger P.E. 380cc injectors and above 5500 rpm's it was bordering on being lean. I could tell by monitoring my EGT temps and I hade a Dyno at 12.1 last I checked (at websites.) No detonation though the timing is perfect.

I wanted a safety buffer but I didn't want a return line and an FPR etc for my setup because it was too close to perfect.

I went on some runs today before and after work and on WOT launch where it used to bog before launching from a power break it just screams. On WOT runs from a roll it is just as smooth as sil and purrs, it doesn't have the starving for fuel feeling at 6k and greater like it used too and where the EGT used to be 900C at 6600 it is now 8.25.

I do not know what pressures or rates I am at becuas emy guages consist of boost and EGT but I do know the car runs perfect. Better than before, better than it ever has.

I did get my old copper plugs back and I was suprised to see they were in good shape (as was the mechanic ) after several months at 9 and even 10 PSI.

So I give the 190L Wlabro and NGK Irrad plug mods two thumbs way up. Now I need to hook up with EJ and get a test pilot on some great crazy runs on video!

Max, I'm glad to hear your car is running so well. Its crazy how one thing works for one car and not another. After my plugs wear out I will also change to the Iridiums.

Lets see some 11 sec passes now Hopefully I won't be too far behind you.

You're welcome 350Now, I still can't get over how great the car runs. You see Tadashi programmed it for max fuel practically but said I would need a bigger pump to make optimum use of the flash "at higher rpm's" but I had a nightware with the SARD 290L and gave up on that for a couple months after returning it.

So I guess this is where my car likes to be, it needed more fuel but not much. NO CEL's.

Enron,

I'm running a 38 and 26 I believe it is, I would have to use the search feature but that gives me between 9-10 pounds and 3-5 around town on short romps and quick freeway passes.

Scott, the Irrad's have the perfect idle, my coppers were a little rougher but then again they had been in there awhile and to be honest the coppers don't last that long when ran hard.

12Sec...glad its working. If you feel so inclined, hook up a fuel pressure guage and report the pressures at idle, and under WOT....

Thanks!

Yeah that is something I would like to do.

Anyone in Sac have one handy? I do not want a permanant one unless I went to an A Pillar pod but I am used to watching the guages where they are at and I am out of room. I also have my tweeters on the A Pillars. I wouldn't mind hooking up one for testing purposes though.

EDIT:

You know what would be cool is that software program that shows all the guages on your LCD panel.

I forgot what it is called but I have a 7 inch LCD/TFT screen in dash.

Doug is hooking my fp guage up to my new fp regulator. This is the same way I had it on my supra and I really liked it. I think the gauge was in the $20 range...

12sec isnt running an FPR, so he'd need a stand alone FP gauge. It requires the removal of the fuel rail, and to weld on a fitting.

Well that isn't gonna happen

It runs fine sometimes you just have to go drive it lol.

I bought my 190L on EBay just punch it in they are all universal you just need the pump it replaces the stock one.

Also it replaces your fuel filter which is attached to the bottom of the pump. ATI recommends these filters be replaced every 35k miles anyway so I am good to go.

You could put the $20 gauge in-line with a simple fitting like they do in the NOS setups.

Check Jegs or Summit...

12SecZ- Are you saying that all the walbro 190lph pumps are universal? So does this mean I can go to ebay and place a bid on one that is made for a different car and has a different pump model number and it will still fit the Z perfectly? If so I am there man!
