Default Updated Greddy TT 1/4 mile times..

Well,

Thanks to my friend Julian for letting me use his semi-slicks (ET Streets). Unfortunately my best 60ft was a miserable 1.996. I toyed around with the pressure (about 18psi) and launches and only kept spinning them out during launches, even after a nice burnout... weird. Didn't wanna drop the psi lower because I've heard stories of the car being very unstable with a lower psi.

Basically I ran a 12.702 on these babies. So I took my "best of" time down from a 12.899 on mis-inflated BFG's to this. I'm a bit upset that it's only 3/1000's of a second from 12.6, but I think if I could get the 60ft down to a 1.7 like it's supposed to be, the car should hit 12.4 or better.

Anyway, thought I'd share... and BTW the mph was 111.52.

Oh, and my boy Phil has one of my burnouts on his digital camera somewhere... maybe he'll post it.

Thanks GQ, yeah this is on a stock Greddy kit...

I'm 100% convinced that with slicks and a proper launch the kit is capable of a 12.4 or lower.

Well, I'm not sure "real slicks" would make a tremendous difference. For instance, the M/T Drag Slicks are made of the exact same compound as the ET Streets... they just don't have those few lines going down the tread... and the sidewall's a bit different.

Although I wasn't the only one who couldn't get good launch times with these tires... Julian, the owner of the tires, couldn't get them to beat his 1.7 with Drag Radials.

Great times.

What size rims are you running?

Your best 60' will come from a 16 inch rim.

Thanks.

The E/T Streets were on 15" Weld Racing Star Pro's. =)

Default burn out

Great time....I did read some where that with the DR they suggest doing a light burn out , just to clean them off . It was an article in a drag mag. and they were comparing tires at the track
