hey forced just sorry to take it off topic but could you plz inform us exactly what the maximum safe rpms of your s/c would be and how much psi it would make at that rpms.

I am assuming you want the V-2 SC-Trim specs since that is what comes in the Z system. The efficient max impeller speed is 50,000. The absolute max impeller speed is 53,000. The Max psi is 20 and the max cfm is 1,000. Max horsepower is 680. Now, you want to know how much psi the blower would make at 50k rpms? It all depends on the back pressure of the system, how efficient the motor is, the heads, the intake. Impossible to say right of the bat. The SC-Trim page on our site is here:

What rpm is the s/c operating at 8 psi? Is it close to the max (50k rpm)?

I would like to know this as well... what are the sizes of all the pulleys on the drive system?

I believe the stock redline is 6600 on the Z and the crank pulley is 5.73 inches, so... our system will be spinning the blower at 46,800 at redline, which is where you should see about 8 psi.

What about us that are running 7100? Does mean the blower is pretty much done and out of steam on a stock motor with an upped revlimter?

So the crank is 5.73" what about the other drive pulleys, and the step up ratio?

Sorry for the questions, just want to make sure before buying something, then having a low compression motor built, and have to swap out blower systems.

Check out this page:
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...edv-2jack.html

Then...serpentine jack shaft pulley is 3.33", cog pulley on the jack shaft is 32 teeth, cog pulley on the supercharger is 28 teeth. The step-up ratio on the V-2 units is 3.61. Plug away.

50404.33 RPM is the number I came up with.

So this means that the blower is over Redline on my stock motor that has the revlimter at 7100 Rpm.

Guess the idea of "turning" it up is out of the question.

Forced (Steve),

In a couple of years (I say that now... months from now I'll probably be pulling the trigger ) I'd like to supercharge my G35C. I've been looking at the Vortech unit, and like what Grubbs does to the Infinitis I've read about on several forums.

A question: is there plans for making available an I/C which will fit behind a stock G35C front bumper, with it's two grill (vice one in the Z) openings? I know the installs I've seen have the single I/C which fits well behind a Z's grill, and seems to function well with the G35s, but was wondering if a more optimal arrangement can be developed? Or is the tradeoff minimal? It seems the middle bumper seam restricts flow pretty significantly after the front bumper is reinstalled.

Christian

The ATI c2 max impeller speed/redline is 80,000, what is the max impeller speed for the v2 vortech blower?

http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/.../350z_dyno.jpg

It shows a peak hp rating of 301 rwhp. (110 rwhp gain over stock) My gain over stock was 146 rwhp at 7psi. Now I understand you pull timing and that is partially to blame, however it still seems low. With the ATI kit, each PSI represents roughly 20 rwhp. If I had put an 8 lb pulley (like your kit) I would have increased by roughly 166 rwhp over stock, which is 56 rwhp better than what your car did at the same boost level.

Concerning the axis car... If you are saying the car is having problems caused by the supercharger, that is news to me. I will try to confirm either way.

ATI is also the first and as far as I know the only one to have blown a motor, oh I mean several motors.

ATI is not the only kit to blow a motor, nor were they the first form of forced induction to blow a motor. Greddy and top secret both beat them to the punch...

As far as engines blowing, yes there were a few but this could occur with any kit. The main problem was a particular vendor/installer. Of the kits that failed, this vendor sold/installed over 50% of them. He had an ecu flash that was not advised for our car and did nothing to fix the timing issues.

The ATI kits were dynoing 370rwhp and up while the vortech had one dyno of 302 rwhp. Obviously there was a better chance of blowing an engine due to a lack of timing. Since vortech released their kit, I have yet to hear of another blown ATI engine.

Read my reply just up a few posts. The Vortech blower is already over it's Redline doing nothing more then turning the rev limiter to 7,100 RPM!!!!

Max RPM Forced said was 50,000 If I shift at 7,100 RPM or close to it, the blower is going to be 50404.33 RPM. That is why I was let down, cause this means no turning it up, once I make other modifications ie. headers, cat-back, etc.

According to Forced absolute max impeller rpm is 53,000. I guess missing a shift is out of the question.
