Default Quieting the vortech rattling?

Hey, anyone figure out a way to get the vortech's rattling to quiet down? I know the Vortech is supposed to be the most quiet SC out there, and I know that that whirrling sound is normal and I don't mind that, but the rattling sound kinda makes under the hood a little too loud.
Basically, there any way to make the Vortech just have the Whirrling sound by itself?
Thanks

Oh yeah, and anyone know if it's bad to tighten the spring on the blow off value? So instead of having it go "WHOOOOSH" it goes "pisst pisst pisst..."?
Thanks again!

You shouldnt have a rattle sound .It may be the intercooler piping hitting the back side of the blower or the wheel well

be careful of tightening the BOV....

i did, and it caused problems... (got the check engine light for one)

maybe you can get the seq. type BOV instead (the type S GReddy has the same footprint as the maxflow one)

also, are you getting the 'whistle' or a horrible shreaking sound??? the latter of them is due to a bad membrane, and is a defective part

i am getting my blower checked for fitment of the piping next week (i can hear a small low-rpm rattle, as if the i/c tube is bumping something)

the good news is that the garble sound i had (read: a la jackshaft thread) was due to improper tension of the guide... its gone now!!\

dont know

i pulled the whole tensioner off, and cleaned the site and re-installed ...

i made a score on the bracket from the original setting (before belt break-in) at a point where it made too much compressor noise......

now, im at that point, while adjusted, and it is back to sewing machine sounds...

albeit a metal on metal shearing machine, but i love it!

actually, the the whistling sound is like, well... a whistle at low RPMs. I it tends to start right when the car is started but then goes away. I'm just thinking of putting the Greddy one in because I like the high pitched sound of blow off valuves rather than the WHOOSH sound.

And for the rattling. So, are you saying that you basically only hear the Whirrling of the SC, and nothing else? not even a little bit of rattling of the SC? I guess I'll have to check it out.

im contemplating it myself, just to hear / experience the difference....

I have the rattle also, its done it since it was new, sounds almost like a deisel. And my belts squeel when it gets hot, the stop squeek belt spray only works temperarily. Is it a pully or a belt problem? Any suggestions?

The sound is a loud deep sounding "WOOOOSH", instead of other BOV which makes like highpitched "speeeep" sound (which I'd prefer). Maybe Forced should come here and regulate some of these questions...

i had these issuesw addressed today...

heres what i (think) you have...

the deiseling sound is coming from the jackshaft assembly..... the main stud/bolt is loose.... how loose = how much deiseling sounds you get at engine laboring situations...

due to the nbature of the JS, it will make SOME noise, when the clutch is engaged and the engine is allowed to labor.......

tighten that bolt (frontside) and also, tighten the a/c belt (culprit on mine) and main serptine belt, OR get the 93" belt, to allow for more tension)

my car sounds tight, and purrfect now..... (best it has been , so far!! )

i also added the BOV filtercap, and the venting sound has changed (quieted down) considerably.....
