Yes the 410hp is true. I have a stock 350z with the Vortech and I have 430hp (flywheel) I put down 371 RWHP. No other mods yet. There are some 350's and G35’s that have it on an AT trans. I think you have to get the ECU tuned to get the rev limiter raised to 7200 or 7100 rpm. If you do a search under Vortech there are a few posts about all of this. Good Luck...

z scag z i will try and answer ur questions to the best of my ability.

the diffrence between a 400rwhp and a 440hp is that the rwhp is measured at the wheels. rwhp = rear wheel horse power. The way rwhp is found is by dynoing a car, wich is basicly a big tread mill for car that hooks up to a computer and tells u how much rwhp u have. When people say that there car has 440hp but only 440rwhp its because horse power gets less and lost by the time it goes to the wheels.

Any more questions let me know,

Thanks

If you dont know much at all about cars...and still want ot get a Vortech...find a good dealer that installs them or a good speed shop that has installed Vortech's on alot of different cars . Learn how to adjust the belts , and find out as much as you can about F/I as possible before you thru with it .

firstly, GOOD choice in a s/c manufacturer....

i think the main three players (vortech, ati, and stillen) all have a very strong offering, and you need to decide which application is best for your needs/desires/finances.....

IMO

the tuner is as important as the installer....

get both onboard before you order (a bad tuner, who mapps you wrong, can cause irreversible damage to your motor)

check vortech's site out for dealer searches....

g35n thanx
guess i wasnt clear enough but i know that stuff and basics

i mean like engine components and some stuff like that

the thing that bothersd me is that dbz33 is saying 371 rwhp

im not calling you a liar but i dont know if nebodys seen it yet but the july 2004 has a vortech dbz on the cover.

This z also has a borla exhaust and it only put 326 to the wheels.

To me 326 aint enough if i am going to drop 5-6 grand on theis kit.

I mean greddy claims 334 to the wheels and its more expensive.

I mean if im gaurenteed 371 to teh wheel id definetely drop 5 6 grand to do it.

can neone try to clear this prob up for me thanx

Check my stats. All I have is the Vortech and a Borla and I am over 50rwhp more than those stats. My dyno was done in June in over 90 degree temps.

I think the safe limits of the "standard" SC options is the low 400's rwhp. If you want more power, go for a TT or check with the SC companies for a custom version.

Hey all,

I have been frequenting this forum trying to learn as much as possible about the 350z and G35. This is my first post but I have already learned a huge amount by reading all the valuable info you guys have. Houston, I had a question about your G35. Did you have to do anything special for your transmission when you added that SC? I was curious if it still shifts normally and correctly with all that new power behind it. Thanks in advance for any help.

z scag z -

Check the forum vendors. You can still get the kit for around 4300 - 4500 I bet. I got mine for that price.

I don't know why the Vortech car in the magazine only put 326 RWHP but I had more than that with out tuning. Just with the kit put on with no other mods and the Split Second base map that came pre installed I put down 350 RWHP. After the tuning it put down the 371 RWHP, the installer didn't want to lean it out any more. It still runs very rich up top but safe. I will have it tuned again when I get my test pipes installed. I say go for it you wont be sorry. Good Luck.

there's alot of variables in these numbers...

one (important one) is the type of dyno they used.. a mustang (loaded) runs a noted amount lower, as it simulates load and friction/weight.....

vortech's numbers, as reported in an article awhile back, were mustan numbers.....

the 412 number is a crank-corrected value, prolly using the higher-reading dynojet (248?) dynometer...

IMO, the torque, amd subsequent acreage below the curve, are the true tell-tale signs of how the car will run... (something im gonna revamp myself, next week!)
