Default Best way to spend money on mods

I have allocated another $15-$20k on engine mods and body kit to which I have already spent $20k. With that type of budget, what do you fellow members recommend for FI, camshafts, pistons, etc. For the body kit, I am going with Top Secret front bumbers and INGs side skirt and rear bumbers. I am looking to produce at least 400whp+ but more importantly is reliability and not too much complication.

Current mods:

Stillen full cat-back system and headers
RT hi-flow cats
Kinetix plenum
Unorthodox pulleys

Tein flex coilovers w/EDFC
Stillen grounding kit
Aluminum pedals

if you have that kind of cash i recommend sending your car to a pro shop and let them pick whats best. i can tell you honestly that most the members here dont know $hit about building a z compared to a big shop like sgp, jwt, or any of the countless other top shops.

Not to be cynical or argumentative, but what did you spend 20K on? Done correctly, 20K should make an incredibly reliable coupe, well beyond 400 rwhp. More like 600+ rwhp. Another 15K or 20K puts you into the galactic realm of possibilities.

Good question so here is a quick summary:

$5k AP Racing brakes (fr & bk)
$2k Tein flex coilovers w/EDFC
$2.5k Stiller headers & full cat back system and RT high flow cats
$1.3k Stillen rear toe & camber adjusters and sway bars
$4.5k Volk 19" GT-C w/Dunlop Sport 9000 tires
$350 Injen intake
$350 pulley set
Plus tax and installation
= $20k

I may have spent too much but now I am refocusing on the engine department. Hopefully you are right about being in the galactic realm after another $15-$20K.

IMO

buy another VQ motor and have it built to the hilt... (source one, like me!)

lower comp, TI rods(*crower), forged internals, etc... (balaced crank, blueprinted)

then either TT it , or (radical thinking here... put a tuner kit vortech 22psi blower ...)

should be able to roll over 600rwhp...

happy hunting... the FUN mods are bout to get goin'....

My two primary goals with this project:
1. Quarter mile in the mid 11s
2. More importantly, kill any BMW M5s.

Fortunately my 2nd car is an M5 killer (2004 AMG E55) but I want my baby G35 to also do the same.

I agree with esemes:

With that kind of funding, you can do it right. Build up the internals and then put on your FI of choice. Just make sure it has tons of room for upgrading. You sound like the kind of person that will want more.

BTW, with 15K you will have no problem smoking any M5 that is stock or close to it.

Get SGP to build a low CR long block and by the time they are done the APS setup will be available (fuel pump upgrade and new ECU needed to up the boost). Oh yeah you WILL need a beefy clutch. A twin Carbon (ie ATS or Exedy) would be sweet. If I had the beans and an understanding wife, that would be my route.
