Default vortech r4 settings

Once i get the baseline install done i want to get the system tuned. Could someone tell me what the sequence is to create a new custom r4 file so i dont have that aux fuel pump not coming on problem. Also what is recommended in the secondary fuel pump rpm AND psi? I see some people have it quite low others are at 2.9 psi. Im thinking 1000 rpm and 1psi?

Mine has always been set to come on at 3000rpms and 2.5 psi. The additional fuel pump is not needed before then, IMO.

I think the AND setting is better. No need for the pump to come on at 3000 rpms if the boost is 0.

Agreed. Too much unneeded fuel could potentially cause the oil on the cylinder walls to break down and increase the friction between the rings and the cylinder walls. This would cause premature ring wear, blow-by and potentially increased oil consumption. I believe it is referred to as "fuel wash" ... my 2¢.

The fuel preasure ...when the aux.pump is on...is at the FMU and your motor doesnt see that extra preasure . The FMU increases fuel preasure to the injectors as needed with boost . The only think about having the Aux pump coming on sooner is that its working [or on] when it not needed . Its not going to hurt your motor with extra fuel
