Default Vortech Oil Leak

I finished my Vortech install and everything went fine except for one issue. I keep getting an oil leak at the fittings that feed oil to the supercharger. I have had had it off three times so far. The first two times I used standard thread tape. The last time I used teflon thread sealant in a tube. I went to get my Y-Pipe installed today and checked the connection and its leaking again. Anyone have any suggestions?

If I remember correctly, you're not supposed to use any teflon... i'ts NPT and should seal with just some motor oil on the threads...

Did you install yours? Do you recall if the fitting going into the motor was flush with it?

HI Lawrence,
You MUST NOT use Teflon Tape or any other type of seal on the Oil Feed Line. It is posible for some of the tape to go inside the blower oil track-plugging the line. NOT GOOD. BLOWER WILL DYE.

The fitting needs to be pretty thight to seal.

I also had a leak, but keep on snugging up the line and finaly went away.

Other that that....... Hows the car running ? Do you like it?

And most of all- How is your GirlFriend?

Thanks Tim, you should work for Vortech! I called them and the tech seemed lost. He said we use thread sealant on the lines. He had no answer for the problem. I am going to take it apart again in the morning clean the thread sealer off and tighten it some more.
I really like it, has a nice feel to it and the motor seems to be happy thus far. I put my Y pipe on today and next week will add some test pipes with resonators. I want to check my A/F before I really get on it hard.
Thanks for asking about Lori, she is doing ok. Unfortunatly she cant go for a ride for another month or so..

I installed all of the oil fittings with only engine oil on the threads and I haven't had any problems ...

We do not use sealant, in fact there isn't any sealant allowed in the precision assembly area here just in case. Do you remember who you talked to? We specifically say in the supercharger owners manual not to use sealant. Just as Tim said, it could cause the oil jet to get clogged and starve the blower of oil and then...not so good.

also, do NOT over tighten it because the oil feed nozzle will break.

No I am not sure who it was but he said you (Vortech) uses thread sealant. He didnt seem like he was sure of what he was saying.

Steve,
So the best thing for me to do is to clean the sealant off and just use oil? This will be the third time I have had the fitting off. Should I go and get new ones or should the ones I have be ok? I realize I may not have it tight enough, I am scared to over tighten it and snap it off.
