Nice numbers

More detailes please. 1.2 bar ...

1. did you use the PE510cc injectors?
2. What is the compression ratio of the pistons?
3. Did you have to swithc out the MAF? What EM are you using. TS reflash? e-manage?

Thanks

Congrats again bluefish. Please toss all the details you can when you get a chance!

Id like to know if you added additional cooling; larger radiator, tranny cooler. Are you on the stock visc diff? How is the stock 6MT holding up? But most of all, what internals did you guys add to the motor? There is a whole throng of members about to built up their FI motors and would love to know what you guys did.

Please don't give any details. Keep everyone's imagination active.
Thank you, Bluefish.

PS: I grew up fishing Bluefish in charter boats coming out off Pt. Lookout, MD.
Fishing for info can be just as tedious.

Obviously impressive. We're all awaiting details (larger injectors? what forged internals? what was used to manage A/F ratio and/or timing?).

hey everyone it's andrew to give you a few specifics, so here goes;

well as most of you know we had this car set up as a drift car but after seeing the potential after tuning the motec we have decided to turn it now into a street tire drag car. the top guys in this class are running 8.3s at 170 mph on BFG street tires!! we have our work cut out for us but we'll get there soon.

ok on to the changes;

compression is very near stock.

engine management is MOTEC M880. we seemed to be having some issues with the drive by wire throttle giving us Sync errors and that's the gremlin we had been fighting with for months so we ditched that in favor of a billet mechanical throttle body but still using the stock plenum. (we'll be changing that soon)

the PE kit is all out of the box. We are using the PE boost controller with 1 bar springs in the actuators. to cool the charge more effectively we built an aluminum box around the PE intercooler to pack with ice and plumbed in a pump that recirculates the melted ice water effectively changing it to an air to water intercooler versus the stock air to air. we saw the intake air temp drop 50 deg C with it full of ice versus running air to air. as for how much boost we can get out of the turbos, PE seems to think about 19 to 20 psi before we start blowing oil seals so we're about to be at that limit.

On a side note,
if anyone tries to box in their intercooler do not weld the box to the intercooler. we did this on the first try and melted the epoxy that is used to seal the end tanks to the core. instead build the box and slip the intercooler inside and use either a panel bond epoxy or similar epoxy prefferably something from a body shop otherwise water will leak into the core and into your intake air.

we are now running VP import fuel as well which is what is needed to make the power we need to make in this class.

the only other internal work done to the engine was a valve job and some mild port work by our head wizard.

oh and injectors are very large bosch motorsports injectors. with the motec we have the ability to run pretty much whatever injector we want since we are not limited by impedance or type as long as the fit in the fuel rail and manifold right now

i think i have answered all the major questions right now as much as we are willing to answer them. i tried to answer all questions as best i could without divulging and of our secrets. i hope this helps everyone with their projects and if anyone is looking for a shop to start their project please let us know.

thanks Andrew

Andrew,

Good luck...You guys have a long long way to go. Make sure George Ioannou doesn't stick a 2JZ motor into it

I'm pretty sure they are running a forged bottom end, that should go without mention...I'm surprised you guys dont even run any aftermarket cams or custom grinds?? Good job guys keep up the good work. 1 more Q--->what about the tranny, stock gears? Diff? What clutch/FW combo?

Andrew,

Can you guys post the dyno chart? I am interested to see the difference in a semi high compression motor Vs. Abdulla's low compression motor at the same PSI(17 Lbs).

Abdulla's chart on 93 octane and 17 Lbs of boost
