PE Install update (w/ Profec Qs)...
Ok, my PE kit is in. Today I finally finished wiring up the Profec E-01 (which I'm using as a boost controller), so I was able to boost above 4psi.
A few observations:
(1) For whatever reason, stock boost is NOT 4.35 with the Profec wired up (but disabled). It's more like 3.6 according to the gauges. I have to investigate this more.
(2) I'm having a few Greddy Profec E-01 issues. It cannot seem to learn the boost level in Auto mode. In manual mode I can increase boost to whatever I want, of course (though it appears that I'm going to have to use the RPM-based duty feature because boost seems to taper back off from max as I get closer to redline).
(3) I basically have Cheston's 8.5 psi reflash from Technosquare and at first glance it appears to be too rich for my setup for whatever reason. I'm still calibrating the analog input from my AEM wideband to the Profec, but I would guess that we're talking about an A/F ratio of 10.5 instead of the more desirable 11.5. I'm going to call TS and see what they say. Danny offered to reflash if I had initial problems with their program--but I have test pipes on order which will likely increase HP and therefore burn more fuel (right? maybe?) so I dunno. I'll call them.
(4) The car is much quieter. I do seem to have a little rattle somewhere that occurs during deceleration. I know one of the intake pipes is rubbing the strut housing so I need to fix that--but there may be some other rattle in there. The sedan is a tighter fit than the G35 coupe and, obviously, the 350Z.
(5) My butt dyno says that the car is pretty fast at 8.5 psi. I have a real dyno scheduled for tomorrow--but if I'm running an A/F in the 10s you guys are going to have to take the numbers with a grain of salt.

It’s good to hear that you got the new system installed with the basic configuration. I will be very curious to hear your thoughts in comparison to the Vortech system. Please keep us up to date after Dyno / testing.

I'm sure it's pretty fast at 8.5psi.
Sounds good so far.
As far as the Profec E-01. My boost with it off is 5 psi instead of the 5.6psi Greddy claims I don't know if it's the spring or the Profec. But I can't see how it could lower the boost below the spring. That's how I've been running and will until I get the TS flash because I'm running with the full exhaust,
just to be safe.
A far as the 10.5:1 A/F it will come up with the test pipes trust me. But you will be under the 11.5:1 mark.
Good luck with the Profec and the AEM wide band. The profec only thinks in a straight line while the AEM output is a curve. Just try to line up the important range 10:1 to 14:1 and live with the rest being out to lunch.
Thanks for the update can't wait to see the dynos. I really want to see the area under the curve with the BB turbo's.

Update: The short story is I've had some issues with the fuel return part of the PE TT install (gas fumes due to an improper seal), so I haven't yet done a dyno. The long version of the story involves an expanding O-ring that got cut during my attempt to make it fit, dropping a pipe clamp into the gas tank, getting stranded on the way to take my kids to school when one of the fuel lines burst at the FPR fitting because I had been too rough with it etc etc.
Thanks to Sharif (HUGE THANKS!) I'll have another O-ring tomorrow and the dyno scheduled for Monday. If it's too rich at that point I'll send back the ECU for retweaking. Danny at TS has been very good to work with thus far.

Steve,
For future reference consider Nissan on wake forest rd. They stock them b/c other cars like the max use them. $10 for two.

Let me know if something doesn't work out. There's an extra oring in my garage.

Regarding the Profec. The learning mode takes several WOT runs in at least 3rd if not 4th gear...from 2500rpm to as close to redline as possible. It is a bit tricky to get it right, but it will eventually learn the boost. If you overshoot the boost, you'll need to reduce the gain. Also, just double check the vaccum lines from both turbo wastgates are routed correctly.
Good luck!
