Question Vortech SC whine getting louder?

I noticed over the past few days that it seems like the SC whine is getting a little louder. Any other Vortech owners notice this?

Something I did that was helpful to isolate the noice was to remove the cog belt. What I discovered was that the other pulleys (i.e. the serpentine pulleys) where making a TON of squeaking noises which I was able to quiet down somewhat using pulley lube.

keep the cog belt LOOSE not tight.....

this drastically lowers the whirl echo in the compressor housing...

I do have a lot of noise at idle. Not sure if it is the cog belt or blower. If you could define "LOOSE"? I have been thinking about calling Vortech Technical Support and having them answer the question: How tight is too tight? I would assume they would tell me the play measurement in inches of the cog belt.

TIA

I think we leave it loose enough to easily turn the tensioner pulley . And ...Im guessing 1/2 inch of play both ways on the belt

This is about where I have mine and the sound is minimal. Note: I just had to replace my main serpentine belt after 3000 mile on my Vortech. It was making squeaking noises and was slipping.

My understanding is you have to tighten the belt a few weeks after your install.
