So ive got the filter and es mod 2 on the bov and the whistle is gone. I also notice that when i shift gears under boost it goes"psh psh psh psh" instead of "pppssssshhhh". In other words its not a consistent blow off. Odd thing is ive got 7 threads showing on the bov, so i thought this would be enough. Any ideas.

When I adjusted my BOV and got it to tight and had surge . I could easily tell that it was blower surge . I could hear that it came from the left front of the car . If its totally different from the normal BOV sound then its more than likely surge . Keep backing off the screw one thread at a time till it goes away .

What kind of foam did you use ? If its real dense , it may not be letting the air out fast enough . But compressor surge is easily heard . Its a fluttering pshhh , and it louder . Just go WOT and when you get close redline , let off the gas . Do it in first gear . If the ppsshhh flutters....its surge . You may want to take out the foam in the filter to make sure...or just take off the filter and then readjust the BOV.....Bill

try manually truning the bov helmet TO LOOSEN it ¼ - ½ turn... it might be a bit overtightened, and making things stick...

i was able to get the pspspsps sound too, and then simply turned the helmet out ½ turn and all was well again... (without loosening the jamnut...

So you are talking about the 1/2 inch nut that may be overtightened?

Also while im thinking about it, is it normal for the car to idle lower with the blower drag on it. Im idling, when warm, at about 400-500 rpm.
