I was wondering what some of you experts would say . Whats the least amount of timing can we can pull at lets say 9 or 10 lb's of boost at red line ? I saw one of our members timing map [ not going to say who ] and they only have 1.4 degree's of timing being pulled at 10lb's of boost at 7,000rpm's . Would this be safe ?......Bill
I am not an expert so perhaps I should not reply but that seems very low. Here are some numbers from my configuration.
10.psi = 4.5
9 psi = 3.7
8 psi = 3.2
7 psi = 2.6
6 psi = 2.1
5 psi = 1.6
Although these numbers may change as I am performing new Dyno runs tomorrow after my latest mods. 400+ here I come.

what did you get ? another pulley 2.87 ? I looked your map and it shows 8.3 I think at 10 lb's . Unless you have changed it since you posted it on your web site

I think I had the Vacuum pressure setting wrong when I exported last time. PM me your e-mail and I will send you my latest MDB file if you like. Tommy
I thought I had my laptop here but I don’t although I have the screen shots of my revised MAPa and MAPb and I have updated my web site correctly, sorry for the confusion. http://www.dfwg35.com
Additional mods include: Dual SPAL fans, Crank case vent (noticeable increase in performance) and some other minor mods. Also our weather is much cooler and my original dyno was in 98 degree weather and I wanted to tune with cooler temps.

that was my thought .I may put some back in but not to the point I need run higher octane . I can only get 92octane unless I want to spend $5 a gallon or mix my own
The only way you are going to know the least amount you can pull is to use a good datalogger, and start tuning.....altering timing and boost (and fuel if adjustable on your setup) in small increments, and logging under a wide range of conditions. There are different generation ecu's (03 to 04 is totally different in its mapping for example), and differences in peoples cars (from base timing to compression, etc), that its something that needs to be specifically on your car.
if 1.4 degress works for that guy, and his AFR stays safe and knock is not present, then its working well!
