More Vortech Questions...
My Vortech setup is sitting in boxes in my kitchen right now awaiting the move to my new apartment, and its install soon after. Waiting sucks
Anyway I was thinking today about driving around with the S/C on the car, and was wondering about boost related to throttle position. I have absolutely no clue about how quickly boost builds with a centrifugal supercharger. Is it going to be making boost every time I get on the throttle? Or am I going to have to mash the pedal to the floor to get boost?
I daily drive my Z, and was just thinking about driving around town. If I'm at 1/4 throttle, am I going to be building boost? 1/2 throttle? 3/4?

My understanding is that there is immediate boost on hand, but the level of boost is limited at first, and only builds as you approach redline.
So no turbo lad then rush of power - immediately power that builds progressively - probably closer in feel to simply having more displacement.
That's all speculation - I want my kit to get here damnit!!!

You wont make boost till after 3000rpm unless you change the pulley. Daily driving is not any different than stock, the only time you get max boost is when you get on it hard. I feel no lag whatsoever.
I am very happy with everyday drivabilty of my Vortech.

yep, i agree with what lorinser said. I can drive my car like i used to daily. But when i romp on the pedal, and that needle flies past 3000, the grin just gets bigger and bigger as it approaches redline...
As long as you drive regurlary ( by that I mean shifting before 3k) then it will feel basically the same. Mine is a daily driver (21k miles & 3K w/ Vortech) as well. But when you put the pedal down , man is the difference incredible. You will be very pleased. My initial install was with the 9lb pully and I am putting down 9.1 lbs of boost and it shoots out like a rocket at WOT, but she is calm as a purring cat when driving regularly. Have fun with it and congrats on your SC, you will not be disapointed
