Default Altered Atmosphere Fuel System

I know that Dr Bonz has installed this system in his car but has anyone else seen it or have it installed in their car. I am looking at it to use with the APS TT system because APS is unsure whether their design can go past 12 lbs of boost. It is a little on the expensive side however....any input?? Thanks.

Here is my experience, and I'll try to hold back the bashing of Altered Atmosphere as much as possible.

I have the fuel rails, and a friend of mine has their fuel system. The rails are nice, and pretty good quality, but they are expensive. Being the only aftermarket fuel rails for this car, then I can see them charging that much for them. I was very dissapointed when they shipped them, they just threw the rails in a box, not covered up or anything, they were dirty as hell inside. All that popcorn crap all over and ended up inside the rails. Dumbasses.

Now for the fuel system. My friends shop installed their complete return fuel system on a 350Z. The system is OK. Instructions suck ***. 2 fuel pumps they sent, both failed. Where you disconnect one of the stock lines and run their new stainless line to, the one coming off the pump, they only give you a frigin hose clamp to secure the lines. This is BS, they need to put a compressed fitting there. I know the lines were secured tight with the hose clamp, but the clamp became loose and the lines ended up coming off and fuel was going everywhere. This could have been bad. I don't understand why they didn't include a proper fitting for connecting these 2 lines together.

But anyway, that's my experience and in my opinion, classic Altered Atmosphere results.

I just installed the AAM return fuel system in my my Z last week.

Packaging of the system was substandard. I didn't expect $1000 worth of parts to come in a .02 cent box. I informed them of such. Some of the parts were missing, the FPR plug and injector spacers. They shipped those out next day air to my shop.

The rails are nice, but expensive.

I agree about the compression fitting. I purchased the Walbro pump from another vendor.

Overall impression is that they could have done just a little more for very little cost to them and made my experience much more satisfactory.

Thanks guys for the feedback. This is why I posted. I wanted to see if there were any problems with the kit. I will present the issue to AAM and see what they can do. Thanks again.

I talked to Mike at Altered and he acknowledges that there were problems with the instructions and packaging. The instructions have been re-done and are now going out with the new batches of kits. They are also re-packaging the kits with new boxes as well. I guess we will see.

Hey everyone its Mike from Atlered! Here are some updates/info. on our fuel system:

WE FINALLY HAVE DIRECTIONS! Yes, our step-by-step directions with diagrams and pictures is complete. All new kits will be shipped with our new directions. If anyone has purchased a kit and hasn't installed, please shoot me a mail MikeM@alteredatmosphere.com and we'll get the new directions to you ASAP.

Ravas - good note on the fuel connect. We though it would be best to re-use the factory 90deg. quick disconnect fitting. After noting your comments we found some straight OE style quick connect fuel fittings that should make installation easier for everyone. We will be shipping the new larger OE style quick connect fuel fitting with all new kits. If you have a kit waiting for install and would rather use the straight OE style quick connect fuel fitting for easier installation, shoot me a mail MikeM@alteredatmosphere.com and we'll get one over to you right away.

PACKAGING! We'll, our packaging was horrible. We were so concerned with how our kit functioned and performed we totally overlooked the packaging. We have custom boxes/packaging on order. In the mean time, we are taking extra care when shipping out kits to make sure everyone receives their kit as neatly as possible.

Thanks for the feedback and happy boosting!

I ordered a kit as well last week (thanks Dr. Bonz).....It ships on Friday, so I guess I am lucky that I'll be getting the good fittings, nice instructions, and the easier fittings...and a pretty box! It looks like a quality system...can't wait to install it and put it through the paces....

Oh, and Ravaz, I wouldnt beat up AA too much about the Walbro 255, I have seen NUMEROUS Walbros 255's that were dead on arrival....seems like everyone has a story about a dead Walbro. The good thing, is either they are DOA, or they last quite a long time.

gq's review to follow.

No, I'm not beating them up about the Walbro. I know it's not their fault, but just our luck. Just sucks when your sitting in rush hour traffic and it dies in the middle of a busy *** street and everyone is pointing and looking at you in a brand new car, you feel like a douche bag They did take care of the pumps tho.

the walbro is a POS but they are cheap as dirt and push a lot of fuel. Not only that but they are small and happen to be an almost direct fit in the 350z amoung several other cars.
