I'm knew to import cars/tuning. I'm 38 and this is my first sports car. I previously had a Mercury Topaz (found out later one of the worst cars made), followed by and Acura Integra GSR (definate move-up and closer to sports car).

However, it's stuff like this bickering that truly pisses me off. Aren't we a "Z" community first? Is my350z.com going to die because of different preferences?

C'mon guys! Where better than that!

I am truly excited for ANY of these set-ups! I hope all go well. But we know it won't. When one kit fails, don't bash the guys with it saying "I told you so!" (you know we ALL do it in so many words)

So chill, tell your experience, and lets enjoy our rides.

PS There's plenty of others we can fight agains (ie Supra owners -jk'ing)

this is not an assault on turbo netics but about supra single turbos. supras are infamous dyno queens, the single turbo allows big numbers but as far as a wide powerband, doesnt help much.

waste sports in japan has an r33 gtr with twin 3250 turbos 1200+ hp,

exvitermini's car is built for race. it has the highest hp skyline in the world and its twin turbo...

lets not vorget the V6es from different companies in the JGTC.

So you're saying that Supras are dyno queens and dont make any power on the street. I can bring 4 guys and cars up to you in Riverside that would beg to differ. I have seen plenty of Skylines set up for single turbo that make great HP.

MIAPLAYA, i have a question:

If i decide to get the DC Sports SS headers and a JIC y-pipe, can i use these together with the turbonetics kit, or will i have to replace the stock parts back in place to make it work?

go for it, im not saying they arent fast, but single turbo is better for high peak and twin turbo is better for a wider powerband. do you disagree?

i guess it depends on your definition of wider power band. Some smaller turbos ran out of juice at higher engine speeds. So they will produce great low and mid range power but tend to top out earlier. Conversly bigger turbos will lag more low end but provide good and amazing top end power. So I guess what I'm saying is it depends on where you want your power at...

The DC sports headers should be fine but since the kit replaces your y pipe you will be able to sell it. There is no typical y pipe with this kit. It is replaced by a long single downpoipe from the turbo.

I personally want the widest powerband possible on a turbo that hardly exceeds the capabilities of the stock internals.

once I'm ready to build the bottom end of the engine, then I'll upgrade the turbo to what I need.

just give me alot of what I can use now....

Quick update in regards to the Turbonetics kit. Looks like Turbonetics may be including a cat pipe with their kit. I don't have a whole lot of details on this yet. I should know more soon though..
