My car is done sans the ECU. Which if you check the rest of this forum you would learn that the late model 04 ECU flash has been giving Technosquare some problems. Enough so that Tadashi had to fly back to Japan to sort out the issues. When the ECU is done my car will be done. Unfortunately its kind of out of Turbonetics hands right now.

ACtually no, before he started this install, we knew there were grey areas, mainly to do with the ECU reflash.

All of the physicall install went essentially as planned.

Don't sweat it... Sorry for off topic posts, it wasn't intentional sometimes that just happens.

Ya i understand its just that its taken them so long to get into the 04 ECU ive been waiting to see how ur car turns out since this is a way cheaper way for some serious HP but i can wait a little longer, Turbonetics needs to hurry though because APS almost has their Single tubo kit out and a lot of people like the placement of the Turbo better in that kit

Like I said Turbonetics cant do anything about this. The issue is with ALL TECHNOSQUARE late model 04 reflashes. Look at the recent Socal Dynos or dynos of the 04 model flash...they are all over the place. Clearely there was a problem. until Technosquare gets it sorted out everyone is kind of on hold. And BTW this issue affects EVERY kit not just Turbonetics. Look at late model 04s running the HKS kit..same kind of issues. Furthermore there were some guys at Technosquare a couple weeks ago trying to get a Unichip to work with a latemodel 04 ECU. So although I know APS is doing their thing (BTW I could care less) its out of Turbonetics hands right now. Its solely on Technosquare right now.

you mention clearly the problem is with the late-model 2004 ECU's.
Does that mean that us who got the early 2004 models are worry-free regarding the ECU problem (whether it's Turbonetics kit or HKS s/c kit)?

Because if that's the case, i have something to brag to my friend who keeps telling me his 2004.5 is better than 2004

It depends on which ECU version you have. The only way to know for sure is to look on your ECu for the label that says what release. i believe the R4 and R5s are giving them the problems...

not knocking your set up MIA' but, i think Turbonetics should have installed the single turbo kit on an '03 or early '04 along with your late '04. that way they would have both ECU's covered. we would also be able to see how the kit is working. just a thought.

They did. They own a 03 350Z and have the kit installed on their 350Z as well. it has been up and running for close to a year now. And they have flogged the living hell out of it too with no problems to date. I went for a ride in that car a while back. Video and pics are on the first page of this thread.

yeah i seen the vids and pics. i guess i was wondering if they were waiting for your kit to be done before they begin selling? if they have done '03's why can't they sell the kit and advertise it for the '03 with later '04's coming soon?

I guess they could...I think they are waiting till they can cover any possible ECU from 03 or 04. Theres so much confusion as to what release ECU came with what car. People have been getting all kinds of mixed releases in their cars. I think they want to make sure they can cover all 03s and 04s before it hits the street. In a sense thats good for them. Look what happened when streetracer installed the HKS kit on his 04 and it didn't work right. People were all over HKs for not doing all the R&D. Turbonetics would rather wait and get all the R&D done make sure it works perfect and THEN let it go...

i guess that's a good way to look at it. like most, can't wait to see just how it performs in the real world.
