Default My Options, and Questions.

Okay, here is what I want. Im not a huge fanatic on mass HP, but I do want about 350 hp out of my Z. Here's the problem. I don't have a huge wallet like some of you do. I basicly buy a part or 2 every other month. I do have about 4K saved up now. I was looking into the Stillen Stage one for obvious money reasons, plus it doesnt create the huge gains that will blow the motor, I can't afford that at all. The questions I have is #1 Later on down the road can I aftercool this kit or should I wait and get the stage 2? 2nd question is, will this kit be safe with the extra fuel injector that comes with it to keep my AF in a safe spot. 3rd question is, can i get this gain from this SC and other parts, such as intake, exhaust, w/o spending an upwards of 10K. The main thing is, I want atleast 300 wheel HP without breaking both my bank or my car, I want the car to run 100% safe on boost. What all do I need to do?

Thanks in advance.

NOT STAGE ONE!

Dont make that mistake, in heat, itll ping your engine to death

i have the stage 3
great
but actually, I'd suggest the vortech, it is cheap, easily upgradable

or, you could get an N/A monster and

wheels, 3.9 final gear, crawford package, exhaust, JWT pocharger

makes good enough power and with suspension, can be a great tracker

Unfortuntately, there is no such thing as 100% safe F/I....especially on a limited budget that you are describing. My honest advise is to save up some more, and do F/I right the first time around.

Hth,

Sharif

Yes, saving and doing it right is my 1st thought, but with school saving might take a year or 2. Vortec is not cheap, and HKS, isn't that turbo? Im not into turboes a whole lot, I want a SC. Thanks for the oppinions though, I probably will save for a while before I do anything.

Dude just start playing poker in your spare time. You'll have enough for a turbo and a new house in a few months. =]

But its really expensive...and above his budget. Also, it hasnt been tested enough in real world applications. I think only a handful have been installed.

I think im going to go with Vortec. I talked to a 350Z racer for Kellog Racing at Mid Ohio this weekend and he said either Vortec or HKS, and considering that Vortec comes with some fuel upgrades and HKS doesn't and they are about the same price, i think im going to save up for the Vortec. Thanks everyone, and my other question is, what is the best way to tune this, I know i want my AF at about a 13, how do I go about gettin it ther, just play with different injectors or what?

Your AF under boost should be 12 or below, not 13. When not under boost, 14.7 is the best for efficiency. The Vortech caomes with the necessary parts to get to 12 or below under low boost, but you will need a tuner to tune it on a dyno.

For added safety consider buying a Wideband O2 that will constantly tell you your AF ratio in the car. Good luck.

Thanks t32gzz that was my plan, but the only thing is I have no idae who would be able to tune it for me around my area, or in all of Ohio for that matter, guess I'll have to research that. Thanks again.
