Default Any Engine Failures with Stillen SC.

I have heard of engine failures (light way of putting it ) with about every type of forced induction except for the Stillen SC.

That coupled with the Roots type torque curve makes it a pretty attractive buy for me.

So I am wondering if anyone has had or knows of someone having an engine failure with the Stillen SC.

If no, what is it that makes the Stillen so much less likely to malfunction? Any thoughts?

Personnaly, I think maybe its because it deletes our plenum which does not provide even flow to all cylinders. Maybe a new plenum can help prevent FI related engine failures???

Actually Stillen sent replacment parts for the person your speaking of. He lives here in Houston and ive talked to him a few times about his car. Its really odd. They have swapped everything out on the SC kit and the car still underperforms. They have pretty much exhaused every option except to pull the blower off and run the car NA.

Overall, the Stillen stage 3 kit is prob the safest FI kit on the market by a slim margin IMO. It makes max boost early while away from the redline. Poor installation and/or tuning can make even the best kits a time bomb.

People have chosen other kits because the Stillen kit produces the least amount of power by a significant amount. If it produced the same power it would be a more dangerous kit because full boost hits faster, kind of like a turbo than other SC kits.

The reason you rarely hear of a stillen kit blowing is because there are only a handful (in comparision) to the other kits sold and several Stillen kits have had problems.

meh, at least the stillen makes its power where you can use it, coming outta a corner or holding low revvs while still being pushed back in your seat

not at all like *other* ones that can make tons of power

wwwaaaayyy up when youre about to shift

however, When you're WOT from 1st-5 and even 6th, the revs don't go lower than 4K rpm which would make the "other" ones boost not too low.
And even when you go through corners, if you are a good driver you'd know how downshift correctly to keep your revs high so you wouldn't lose so much boost.
