Mine broke in the exact same place after 2 hours. The unit
was purchased on 10-06-04 and I still do not have a car as of
11-11-04. Also problems with fuel gauge after install.

Have you been going thru diagnosing? Was it caused by Install or was it an actuall malfunction?

Okay stupid question. On the HKS SC's where the pulley has snapped was the belt tension too tight. Maybe putting too much force in one direction on the pulley ?

Not sure if it was caused by the install since I did not perform the
install.

I've been waiting on HKS to send a new supercharger.

The front of the supercharger that attaches to the pulley just
separated. The bolt does not seem to be of sufficient strength and quality to meet the forces the supercharger generates.

As soon as I receive the car I will let everyone know how it
performs and if it was worth the wait and the warranty issues.

Exactly..... the only problem with th SC units is that there was a batch that wasn't pre-filled with traction oil and as a result, seized up and caused the bolt to snap. It is a dumb thing, but itis also a simple thing and not some kind of design flaw or real reliability issue. My new unit is functioning flawlessly, although now the issue of the altered A/F ratio sending an error code to the ECU has come up. This doesn't affect performance at all, but it does trigger a Service Engine light. Apparently only the pre-cat oxygen sensors are affected. The post-cat sensors are reading within spec.

Basically what this means is that the added fuel and SC programming is running richer than what is within spec for the stock ECU, but apparently, the cats can still handle it, thus the post cat sensors are reading okay. The car is set up to properly self-regulate A/F from the rear sensors if the front sensors fail or read outof spec. So basically, all is well in the end, except for the SES light being triggered.

The real issue is what can be done about it. I know I can get the F-CON S reprogrammed at an HKS pro dealer, or I can added the HKS Graphic control unit and adjust the A/F myself to maybe lean things out a bit so as to not trigger the SES. However, if I lean out the mix enough to not trigger the SES light, I don't know if it will still be safe enough to prevent detonation. I seem to be caught in a catch 22.

Hello Pete!

Can I install the APS TT on a automatic? I was thinking of buying the HKS but I also like the APS kit. I have no plans to modified or boost the kit, I am looking for a out of the box kit that will be SAFE for STOCK internal parts. I will appreciate your advices.
