i think you right...i think it is indeed wired wrong after all this drama... i'll find out when i get back to work on it this weekend
thanks everyone for the feedback, i'll let you know how it goes..
on another note...if i plan to run 8lbs of boost at 5000 ft altitude...what would be the recommended timing retard... gq suggested 5-7 degrees gradually from 3500 rpm up... (i think i am quoting him correctly)...any other imput???

I am not sure because we tried when I installed the J&S and the car just would not run so we just gave up and took our chances and so far so good.

You must have been doing something wrong, because I added the diodes to Gurgens unit, which also has the new drivers.

If you got your unit from ACP, it has the latest coil drive transistors so it does not need the diodes.

I purchased the J&S from ACP....It is being installed on Monday the 22nd...we do not NEED to install diodes, but you can add them....should I add/install the diodes or no?
Do we still run the risk of damaging the coils if the ingnition is left in the "ON" position with the engine off?
I must say I have never recieved any automotive part that was packaged as nicely as the J&S.
Thanks...Kenny

Based on what happens to the greddy harness when you leave th key in the on position, i would say that even with diodes on the J&S...keep the key out of the"on" position when the engine is not running.
In terms of whether or not additional doides are needed, I spoke to Gurgen on this a while back, and as long as the newer units have the diodes built in, you shouldndt need another set.
