Man that is sick, how are the 555cc holding up. do you think you are coming to the end of them. I would think it is time for 740cc.

Engine

Pauter Rods
Arias Pistons 8.6:1
Stock Crank
Possibly--Pinned Block
Balanced Bottom
(any suggestions on anything better to strengthen the bottom?)

Tomei Cams (X-mas)
Ferrea Valves/spring setup?
SGP Titanium Retainers
Nismo Oil Pump
Nismo Thermostat
Nismo Head Gasket
Port and Polished Heads
ARP Head and Main Studs
Some kind of bigger injectors
AAM Fuel Rail
APS Plenum (when it comes out)
Unorthodox Pulley Set
(any other suggestions?)

I plan on having all before I even get the engine running so give me some time.. I have the whole bottom as of now...waiting to be sent out... as for the rest of the car.. dont know what I want yet...

GOAL
600 WHP on 93/94 pumpgas

for some reason people are limiting thier WHP to 550WHP on pumpgas.. any reason? I plan on having 18+.. probably 20+ pounds boost.

Hey guys, how much less boost do you all think we will need to run to obtain 550 rwhp with some moderate port and polish work? Does this require a FI cam or can the stockers work? Anyone care to throw some percentage air flow numbers just to give the rest of us noobs an idea?

I bet 550rwhp can be acheived with a completely stock head and 18psi of boost. Now with a build head (port and polish etc.) and no cams , about the same but the boost will come on quicker for better mid range response. with cams it all depends on your goal and type of cam, maybe a psi or 2 less. Reason I am not doing cams is just that my car will be a daily drive and 550rwhp will be plenty of power. I also don't want to give up anymore bottom end power that I would lose with cams.

Yea, thats what i thought. Stock heads and cams should be able to reach 550rwhp on pump gas at around 18 psi. Anyone else have a say? With head studs, we cant do head work w/o pulling the whole motor again.

With some 114 octane race gas, how much farther can we boost or how much more power can we safely make?

It appears that since the studs are "hand tightened" into the block and have allen heads they can be removed in for head replacement , witout and engine pull if needed.

One of the reasons we are going with nearly stock heads (very mild port and polish) is we want to see what kind of power can be made without extensive headwork. We think we can do 600rwhp on pump gas

That is correct...All the ARP studs we produced for the VQ35 are broached with the allen head so that they can be removed without removing the head

I was setting the 550-600whp based my desire to have a fun, reliable, and streetable car. No matter how perfectly your motor is tuned and built, things are more likely to break and wearout with higher WHP levels. So I just set 550-600whp as my personal target, even though I am certain the motor can take much more.

Carrillo H-beam rods
Forged CP 8.5:1 pistons w/.5mm overbore
Rotating assembly balanced
Power Enterprise turbo kit in transit (was using Procharger)
N-tech UECM piggyback (using, but still developing)
Power Enterprise PBC boost controller/meter
Stainless fuel lines with fuel 'Y' into individual fuel rails
Borla True Dual exhaust
Stock heads and cams

Use this car for road course. Need reliable high rpm power for extended periods of time, so cooling is a factor. We worked it out with the Procharger at 11 psi, so it should be OK with the turbos. Will add water cooling lines to the turbo setup. Looking for 420 reliable rwhp on pump gas. See you at the track!

LOL.. No I think it will be a good run between you and I. But as for compleation time you will have me by a mile.

My block and heads gets sent out Monday and we are now waiting on all the ordered parts to come in. I would think your block would be back in a few weeks. When should your turbo kit get to Toms?
