Default New G owner

Hello everyone, just picked up a '05 G35 6MT and wanted to say hi. I'm new to Z/G but not new to cars, I have been a regular @ dsm related forums for years and own a '90 Eagle Talon TSI AWD since 1993. As a new G owner, I have some questions and hopefully you guys can help me answer them.

1. The clutch engagement point seems to be pretty high, are they adjustable?

2. How do I properly break it in, sorry my first new car. I was thinking 1.5k miles and shifting before 4k, anything you guys would like to add?

3. I plan on changing both fluids to synthetic, any comments?

4. How mod friendly is Infinity? What are the modification limits without voiding warrenty?

Thanks in advance for your comments. If you guys have any questions concerning DSMs please feel free to ask me, it would be my way of contribution to this site for now.

Bruce

1. I think it is adjustable
2. Break is is usually around the 2k mark. Dont go past 3500 unless you have too
3. I changed the fluids to synthetic also
4. First off its spelled InfinitI. No why get it right my man you own one now. But as far as modding, it depends on your dealership and what they say is cool and not cool. Ask your service department.

I know here in cali, some dealerships install exhausts, intakes, and even superchargers.

Just check it out

Nice of you to join and have fun with the car, enjoy and dont forget to hit up www.g35driver.com

welcome aboard.

clutch, not too sure about.
break in, just vary the engine speeds at first and try to keep the rpms down.
i use regular fluids cause thats what the dealer recommends. and if you stick to what they say, they cant blame you for failures later on.
very mod friendly... the dealers on the other hand, are a different story.

Thanks, we are probably going to keep it stock for awhile, at least until I'm done with the Talon.

Congrats! Good luck with the car.

And the clutch engagement point is adjustable. Do a search over at g35driver and you will find it.
