Default The G35 Dash

I was recently in the market for a car, and decided on the 350z instead of the G35. Don't get me wrong, the G35 is an amazing car, and the exterior is comparable to the 350z, but I just couldn't get over the center console.

Is there a reason Infiniti decided to have the navigation system pop out the top (and therefore make the console stick out 4" further than it needs to)? A setup like the 350z would, IMHO, make the interior much sleaker.

Anyone out there prefer the G35 console?

The stock G35 Nav is actually pretty nice the way it "pops up" but what you could do is get a G w/o the Nav and then get a DD kit and install a DD Nav aftermarket HU that would look similar to the Z and sound a lot better than stock. Look at G35driver.com for some good examples...looks pretty slick!

Personally I like it, since I rarely use the Nav, so I can have it tucked away. Better piece of mind when parking in public too, as far as break-ins. I just wish the Z/G Nav was touch screen. The current system sucks, imo.

I really like the layout of the G35. It shows luxury and class i think.

I dont think touchscreens are a great idea because 1) fingerprints 2) more likely to get scratched since you always have to clean off the fingerprints 3) More likely to damage the screen from pressing on it.

I prefer the G35 dash over the 350z. I absolutely love the fact that the Nav pops out the top. When you need it, pop it up and it's there. When you don't, it's hidden stealth style. I've had touchscreen Navs in the past and I actually prefer the non-touch Nav of the G/Z. I use Nav a lot and I can't tell you how nice it is to not have to clean the damn screen every other day! Thumbs up to the G35 dash!

The pop out nav screen is the coolest part of the car. That really gives the interior a custom touch. The interior of the G35 is all business and on fluff.
