Battle of the Boosted. G35 TT Vs IS300 T
#181
Well its official... the graphite gray IS 300 pushing 402whp shredded his tranny to bits last night. We tried telling him to turn the boost down and how he was going to blow it if he kept driving it so hard blah bah blah and last night we all went to the car meet, hung out for a while and after everyone went home he called us with the bad news. All of his gears minus 4th were blown. The only reason 4th didn't break is because its 1:1 and its not actually a gear.
Us VQ's should be thankful our tranny's can hold more power =)
Wait a min!!! I'm on my third transmission!!!??? Nevermind LOL

No, the clutch didn't blow. But that's exactly the problem. If he would have had a more forgiving clutch, he would have slipped the clutch and saved his tranny from breaking.
The ACT held too strong and too much power got transfered to the gears and broke.

Coming soon...
From the people who contributed to the birth of this thread, a new event that will bring the Nissan, Infiniti, Lexus and Toyota together.
Atendees will enjoy designated free parking, discounted gas, good food, and all the parking lot bragging you can handle.
Meeting point is the Citgo Gas station on 17-92 and 436. This gas station is owned by Alex (gold IS) and I've been working out the details on how this event can be brought to life and so far we're planning on making it a meet every two weeks.
This is no club... No stupid sticker to put up on your windshield... We're just looking to get people more involved in the tuner scene, compare notes and swap stories. We don't care is you already belong to another club, we're not asking you to sell out. Just stop by and see what's up.
More details to come... Sorry the info i so vague right now but I just wanted to put this out there so it be known.
Check back in a few days for the rest of the 411!
