I love the new vq35HR; but I doubt if it will handle better than a 350z?
let's wait for the 2008 350z lol!

Did the weight go down too or something? A few HP shouldn't be that big of a difference?

WOW!

First off, the features.. man are they cool. The Non Nav interface is beautiful, bright colored screen that is viewable at all times of the day. Gorgeous interior styling. The new seats are so awesome. They grab you even MORE than the 350 seats, keeping you locked in place for those high speed runs.

So the pickup.. OMG. Will SMOKE the 350. SMOKE IT. Bolt on 350's need to fear the g sedan. The paddle shifters WOW!... so quick and so much a part of the driving experience. Doesn't feel forced at all like shifting in manual mode of the 350.

The ride and handling are superb. Can't beat a car that can cruise and take turns hard.

Overall, I'm INCREDIBLE impressed with this automobile. I said it in another post, my FX should FEAR the next time I make the trip to the dealership, cause I HAVE TO HAVE THIS CAR..
+1

I was blown away by the 07 G.

Little things I enjoyed

Power side bolsters.
Two little led lights on the top console to illuminate the center console screen area
The new aluminum that is designed to look like J paper.
I was impressed for maybe the first time with a oem Bose stereo.
The blue/violet hue used for illumination.

Of course the obvious. Also Infiniti kept the price nearly equal to the outgoing model. The 08 coupe is going to be one helluva ride

when does the Z get this engine? I thought it was going in for the 2007 year? Now someone mentioned that it's not going in until 2008?!

The iS350 has all those options you have stated(including the blue halogan type interior lights), is faster and nicer... So you are telling me that a G35 sedan can beat a Z with bolt-ons, yet a Z and IS are neck and neck... Once again the IS is faster on paper and in the real world than the G... Doesnt make much sense to me... I know they are new so everybody has to hype the hell out of them, but give me a break, there not that fast... So if your theory is true that it flies, imagine when the 07Z comes out with that motor... Should beat Z06's right!!! Its 6hp and even with the sae correction say 13hp.. Well the revup has 13 more hp than the non revup and they run about even... Its a drivers race.. i have driven an 07G sedan and I must say they run nice and look nice but you guys have gone off the deep end

Go F your self motormouth.. I never disrespected anyone and by telling me to STFU I take that as disrespect... You forum ducks have a big mouth but I bet I would stomp u like the hag u are if u'de be in front of me...

I was simply stating that all these "great new accesories" you guys have listed are already out on other models... And stating that it will rock a Z with bolt-ons is very doubtfull due to what I said about the IS... I test drove the 07 G sedan and its fast and nice but not all that great like they are saying on this thread.. The IS and G are both 306hp yet the IS is faster... And the IS and Z (stock) is basically a drivers race so to say a G sedan is way faster than a Z, u must be on da pipe

IBTL

I looked at the 07 G and the interior plastic was god awefull. Im not sure why there is so much praise going for the interior. I think it looked sub par for a car at this price and class.

The exterior and the new motor and tranny is a good improovment in my book. I look forward to the 07 Z and G coupe.

Nissan/Infinity always seem to do poorly in the department of interior material selection. Seriously, if you dont see a difference between the better examples of interiors, IS350 and TL, then consider yourself luck you have more choices. I cant stand the cheap plastics layed everywhere in the 07 G sedan. That was a deal breaker.

+1 on the interior.. looks like it was made by tyco.. For the price range of the G sedan I'de take the IS, TL or even a 330

My wife has an IS250 and the interior isn't that great. The silver on the plastic on some areas is chipping away and gets easily scratched. Other than that the car is great.

I haven't driven or been in the new IS, but I know the old one felt flat out cheap to me. I think the G interior is pretty good looking, blows the 350z interior out of the water and the old G interior. I think in it's price range the more comparable car is the TL and it beats the TL in every category. The IS price points for the 350 are closer to BMW than the G. I stand by my claim that the G is faster than the Z, no question. If you really have test driven the G, you would realize this. Otherwise I question your claim that you have.
Yep. I test drove an IS350 and it was pushing mid 40s. The interior was cramped, and not that nice. There was certainly plenty of wood.

As for cheap plastic, the only cheap plastic i remember is the panel that houses the door lock/window buttons.

The new aluminium is much nicer then the out going model. I didn't notice the dash being made of hard plastic like the outgoing G.

I will concede perhaps the interior parts are not as of high quality as say a 3 series, but I still prefer the G. I think the new 335i interior is downright ugly if you opt for the screen. The Infiniti interior has a modern warmth to it, that I think is totally lacking in the new 3.

You simply can't touch the G for the money. The sport 6 speed model with the premium package MSRP is 35k or so, Invoice around 33k. A Base model G invoices at 29k with an MSRP of 31-32k.

Great car for the money. I feel it easily rivals the IS.

BTW nobody said these features were non existent on other cars, we simply said it was nice of Infiniti to add them, espically at this price point.

The IS is also cramped inside, the G is much roomier

After driving both the manual and 6 speed G sedan, it is without question noticeably quicker than the Z.

The IS350 I test drove did not have those nice LED lights, it also did not have a screen (unless you opted for the nav)

I would guess a fully loaded IS250 is probably close to a fully loaded G sedan. Certainly the IS350 I test drove (which didn't even have NAV) wasn't anywhere near the G

sure I'M the one with the big mouth (quack) but you are the one talking tough now, huh? lol I don't think I ever threatened anyone before.. nice job

and seriously, on paper the G sedan is quicker than a Z in the 1/4 (13.8 @ 102 to a 14.1-2 @ 100). And since, as you pointed out, the Is is still not quicker than a Z, and the new G is a bit quicker than the Z is, wouldn't that mean it could pull on a IS as well ?

and FOR THE PRICE the features you get are great, I am sure that is what the excitement over those are for.

I figure maybe you thought he was talking about the outgoing G35 sedan, since the new one is much quicker and all.
