Default Q about 12v accessory adaptors & V1 install

Sorry to be a complete noob, but I just got my G35 today and have a few questions.

1. Is there an on/off switch for the 12v power accessory adaptors? My cig lighter adaptor one works, but the one in the center console and on the passenger side don't work.

2. Has anyone tried installing a Valentine 1 using the hardwire? I tried to remove the lights/sunglass holder and it felt like I was def. breaking something. The headliner that goes around it kinda got a little loose at the top when I tried to remove it, but I tucked it back under there and gave up. Maybe i'm just being too scared, but I really don't want to mess it up.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Oh and in case it matters, its an 04 coupe (auto, unfortunately) w/ auto dimmer/homelink.

edit- i've tried removing the reading lights again, all I did was end up scratching stuff up.

Anyone?

I took it back to the dealer I got it from and since it is still under warranty they will take it to the nearest Infinity dealer to get the power adaptors (and the power lock on the passenger side which I discovered doesn't work) fixed and give me a loaner in the mean time, but I really don't want them putting 250 mi (round trip) on my car nor be without it for 1 or more days.

thanks
