Default G35, good for everyday driving?

Thinking about getting a G35. How's the reliability issue(s) for everyday driving? I commute to and from work 2 hrs a day. I need something that's easy to maintain and doesn't eat up too much gas.

One more thing, how many mile you guys put on your car in a day?

The G is a great daily driver. Fuel economy is close to that of a Prius, yet it's nearly as spacious as a Camry. Only downfall is the reliability. Infinitis have terrible quality control.

Mine blows up on the way into work and again on the way home from work almost daily

I can't believe I put up with it for 78,000 miles so far... and I drive over 150+ miles a day to boot...

My pinto and gremlin are more reliable... but the "G" looks better so I guess I put up with it.

Only if you drive like this on a daily basis. If you don't know how to drive sideways, I wouldn't bother.

Yeah, I mean Infiniti only builds cars that wont last you longer than 5,000 miles. They blow up right at 4,999 miles. Plus its not comfortable at all, so daily driving is thrown out the window. The seats are made of cardboard, and the glass is not really glass, its plexy plastic.

The G35 is really made by KIA in korea and isn't infiniti. Also it gets about 12 mpg so it isn't very good for daily driving.

Is this guy serious?

I commute 108 miles daily. It's great. Fuel economy is not the priority of the G or any sport sedan for that matter. I routinely get 20-22 mixed driving with stabbing the throttle like a serial killer and maintaining hwy speeds of 80 mph. When I take it easy (just to see "what if", I can get 24 mixed with speeds about 70MPH. Strictly highway gets 25-28 depending on terrain.

As for reliability, mine is rock solid. Even with HPDE's and my lead shoe, I have had little trouble (a squeak here or a rattle there). The squeaks and rattles were hunted down and killed (again, like Ted Bundy).

The best part is I can pass just about anytime I need to, stop in shorter distances than most and cruise comfortably.

The downside is I spend about $4,300 in fuel each year. A prius would drop that to under $2,000. Then again, I would be driving a prius like Gore the third.

Same here.

The gas milage is not great, but i love the ride.

I havent had any problems with my 06', which has 24.4K miles. I drive around 120-150 miles a day. Only thing I had to replace are brakes.

The G35 is ok for everyday driving. I personally wouldn't recommend driving it more than 2 days a week cuz everytime your drive it you have to swap out the turbo for a new one and and the flux capacitator get's filled with this black stuff which needs to be drained and refilled. Otherwise it's pretty easy to maintain especially if you've built your own G35 like most of us.
