Default Can someone Please help me!!

I have been searching for so long and what I actually need is a write up on how to do a 6spd conversion for a g35. Please someone just provide me with a link or direct me to somewhere. I would gladly appreciate it.

It's actually very simple.....first drive to the dealer....then sell your automatic and purchase a manual. Conversion complete. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the very helpful information, now would you answer me, if I took my g35 auto 03 to the dealership, do you know how much more I would have to pay for a trade for a 6mt g35?

Nobody would have an answer to that. It would depend on too many variables.

haha. However, it probably is the easiest, cheapest and best way to do the conversion. The only problem might lie in finding an MT with the correct color/mileage, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

Considering the cost of the tranny, clutch, flywheel, pedeal assemblies, shift boot, and everything else needed, not to mention the labor (since he is asking, it doesn't sound like the OP will dit themselves) -- I have a hard time believing a swap would be the right way to go over trading cars.

That being said, there is an article in the Sept. 07 Modified (ARC Evo on the cover) that did an AT to MT swap in an S14. The details will be different, of course, but the steps should be pretty similar.

I am just not sure if the computer is different between the AT and MT models for the G.

Look, if you guys want to help then please help, if not please leave your smart comments elsewhere. I don't want to get all angry and flip out, its just that everytime I ask a question, I just want the question answered, not getting smart comments in return. I always thought that a forum is suppose to help each other out, but it turns out that you guys just like to flame the crap out of people just cause they want to do something different and not have to follow the flow with everyone else.

From the sound of things it looks like everyone else here IS helping you out! they are not "smart comments", everyone is just being "smart".

I would say sell your car on the outside...get the right buyer and right price...hold out till you do...then search for the right MT G35....ive seen them in an array of price ranges and quite often find them for really cheap...

I would imagine even if there was a 5K difference in price in the buy sell trade...you would still be on top! and 5K for a conversion like that is cheap considering all the expensive parts everyone has already listed...

Also, there is one thread i did see on here where a guy was attempting this.... it does require new computer and wiring is an issue with mt over at....
in the end your G35 will be in pieces....

also, there is nothing different about wanting to do a mt swap...its possible on many cars.....fesiblity study wise? not a good one on the g35 when im sure you can sell your car for a decent price and not be too far off from buying a good mt G?

Check out the Sept. Modified magazine as I stated before. It should still be on newsstands and it details the steps and parts involved. Sure, it's on an S14, but it should all be pretty much the same info. And they do a lot better job than can be detailed on a forum post.

I think most of us were trying to help and say it probably isn't worth it -- how is that being "smart"? I didn't see any flames directed at you, and I certainly wouldn't call this being "different".

Now, if you said "I want to try my hand at an MT swap for the experience", then I think you would get a different type of response as people would bypass all the "just trade cars" replies and go straight to the "I really don't know how to do that, probably best to talk to a shop" responses.

Actually my reply was a serious one. I am seeing 2003 G35C's with 35,000 still sell for anywhere between $21 and $29,000 depending on mileage condition etc. Figure out a price you want to spend and remember a manual will cost less than an automatic, then go do the trade. I have had my manual Z for years now and my wife's G35C is auto. It's not a bad car in auto form. Think to yourself if this is something you really want to do or if it is just pressure from others about buying an auto. Good luck!!

As the others stated, it's probably cheaper and more sensible to trade your car for a 6MT as long as you haven't already invested a lot in mods for your car. However, if you have a lot of mods invested in your car and can't bare to trade it in, GTM can do your transmission swap. Here's the link.
