Default AWD for my coupe.

I've been poking around, looking to do this for sometime-- I need to upgrade the Tranny on my coupe, so I'm about to drop 4000 for the SPG Tranny, I really want the AWD, I'm willing to wait if I have to spend more money, But I need an AWD Diff and/or Tranny (I don't really know what I'm doing) that can hold 500-600RWHP

Cuz an engine build is after my AWD converstion, I got the greddy kit =)

I'm not really concerned with what will be cheaper, This is my weekend car (was daily driver, thats why its a 5AT)

I'd like to keep it a 5AT if possible too.

You don't need a stick to go fast. 5AT with boost is a hoot...

I'd appreciate a few answers that would help me.

I remember doing this to a completely worthless car (Gs-T Eclipse to AWD GsX Style) and the cash vs practicallity was NOT WORTH IT AT ALL but it would be a nifty car and rather custom for sure.

hell AWD would make it even more practical. No more storing the car in winter. As far as doing this with an auto tranny...that is where most of your money is gonna be dumped...not the strength part but the custom parts for mating a tranny not meant for an AWD vehicle to an AWD setup. If it is a weekend car now why not get a tranny from a skyline and save yourself alot of trouble? If your serious about it, contact Speed Engineering. Speed-Eng is where I got my custom 4l80 for my AWD SS Silverado. They mainly deal in domestics but I'm sure they do custom drivelines/crossmembers for your car. I'd love to have an AWD Z but I'm gonna guess it would cost more to do that than it would to reach your hp goal on an auto.

well for my built G35X with JWT i had to run higher 12psi boost to even get to 400whp. probably on a non-AWD and MT it that would put down 500whp.

So if your planning to build for 600whp then you'd have to aim to build an engine that would +700whp on any other car.

+1 on Function:TUNED. The Z they built was NA, but I've heard rumors that they're going to be building up the tranny and block and will be boosting via Vortech... Should be an interesting project to follow.

As far as your build - sounds like you may need to research a little more. The tranny is just ONE of the pieces you'd have to address. In any case, it's more than do-able with the right amount of patience and money.

Good luck.
